Really looking forward to tonight, it will be like all star game that actually does matter. Also, can't wait to see how the Americans react when the Dominicans are bouncing out of that dugout and dancing all around. 6:00 for all 3 of you that care.

Guys, had Len Kasper said "no" to the Cubs' job, Matt Vasgersian would've been the Northsiders' TV voice many years ago.

I think that was Tom Verducci, veteran MLB scribe for Sports Illustrated who also doubled as analyst on quite a few MLB Network games last season & several "MLB on FOX" broadcasts on a regional level. I think Verducci worked the USA/Dominican Republic World Baseball Classic game last night with Vasgersian in Miami. John Smoltz, who's part of Turner Sports' #1 MLB broadcast team, worked the game with Vasgersian Wednesday when Team USA beat Puerto Rico. The eye candy on the field is ex-NESN Red Sox reporter Heidi Watney, one of MLBN's newest hires this year.

I've always thought the biggest problem with baseball is that it doesn't last long enough. Luckily, the World Baseball Classic is here to extend the baseball season to 10 months.

Here are my issues with the WBC. While MLB teams don't want their star players, such as the Mets' David Wright with back issues, to get injured during these games, there's no perfect time to have this event, which I believe is next scheduled for 2017.
