Grateful Red!

Love this guy. Announcing the Pac-12 game last night on ESPNU he makes a joke about Ray Lewis and a limo, then less than a minute later takes a shot at ESPN for suspending Bill Simmons from twitter. Everyone's saying he was high during the broadcast. His partner sounded more uncomfortable than Mike Myers looked when he was next to Kanye during that Katrina thing.

That game came on to damn late for me, but I heard him and really wanted to stay awake and listen. He is comedy gold and I don't think he has a fucking clue on have of the stuff he says.

he and Snapper Jones should be calling NBA games somewhere

The Sacramento Kings local broadcasts are so weird, they'll have Walton on from time to time and Jim Gray is their sideline reporter

no he's alive
and even if he were dead, Walton and Snapper's corpse would be more entertaining than 99% of NBA color analysts

His Wikipedia page still has him alive, so it MUST be true. And Bagels said so. :D

That is weird for such a marginal market.

I think Dick Stockton does local Spurs games, or at least he did. Three-pointer from Ginobili Manu!

He may have in the past, I don't think he does anymore

Walton's timeline is weird though, because at one point he did Clippers local broadcasts too...I know he's a west coast guy and all that, but i don't know if there's any connection to Sacramento at all with him. he just seems to show up w/ various west coast teams every few years

I think Bill Walton did Clippers games for a fairly long time. Not sure if it overlapped with his ESPN work. I have no idea why he came out of retirement to do Kings games, of all teams.

I think he just does random teams all the time. Next Friday he'll do the Hornets vs Grizzlies; the Monday after the Sixers @ the Jazz.

I'd love it if he did one of those random NBDL games they broadcast on NBATV.

He stopped doing national games because his back is pretty much destroyed, and he can't handle the travel schedule. It would he nice to see him back on the big stage.

Bill Walton is great as a color analyst because he pretty much does free association and says whatever comes to his head. Basically, he is exactly what I want in that position, he says whatever he wants and doesn't give a fuck what happens in response.
