Let me preface this by saying that I'm fine for having parties when you reach certain milestones like 21,30,40,50. But as an adult, with children, don't you think it's time to give up the birthday parties for yourself when you hit your 33rd or 34th birthday?

I kind of agree. I don't mind the "hey we are going out for drinks for my bday, come join if you want" text, but yeah to actually plan a party is pretty lame. Furthermore I am not going to be guilted into going to your 32nd BDay either.

my buddy's wife was sick on her actual 33rd birthday last year. So she decided she wanted another birthday party 3 weeks later. This is the exact same person that lead me to post this thread.

Having people create there ownFacebook birthday events, invite everyone to them, setup a bar package for themselves and then give it an actual name like "Michael-Palooza!" for a non-landmark birthday is worse than both of those.

so...Saturday June 29th. I'm having my 38th birthday party. We couldn't find a place for my 10,000 friends and loved ones, so we decided to have it at Summerfest. There is a $15 cover charge....and the beer is like $5 too, but all proceeds go to me. It's like a gift.
