He also knows how to win. I trust him. Elijah Johnson needs to get his head out of his ass and Maclemore needs to show up.

Will wait until later to post more thoughts on OSU/ISU as there is still good action going on now and I'd rather not derail the thread...but damn, tough loss...

Just happy with two close games thus far and it looks like UNC/KU is gonna provide the same.

Iowa State has not been on the receiving end of close calls this year. Sucks. I was rooting for them today.

I don't put it all on him. 3 best shooters/players are combined 1 of 14 from the field. Add in 12 turnovers they are lucky to only be down single digits. If they come out flat after half and still suck, then I put onus on Self for not getting his guys ready.

And then, just as quickly, they decided not to.

Ya know, I dig an underdog story as much as the next guy (minus Bernstein), but at what point to you tell the FGCU guys to cut the crap? It's one thing to celebrate, but shit, they are already annoying, bordering on outright clown.

Dear Brandon Paul & rest of Illini team, please go to the basket like that more in the 2nd half. Stop settling for fall away 3 pointers.

Thanks you.

3 Final Fours in 5 years got him paid...

...not making it past the opening weekend once in the following five years would likely be what got him fired.

He's a good coach.

Illini people wanted to steal him last year and I would have been good with that...at the time.

Yeah I get that, but still. 3 final fours. What team would not be thrilled with that? Yet it is fireable at UCLA. Just seems crazy to me.

I think he got fired for allowing his team to wear those train wreck uni's. Everyone that had anything to do with those should be fired.

He seemed to not maximize talent. How did they not win a title once during that 3-year span?

Can't give you a team that wouldn't be thrilled with that...but I could easily see this happening at a program other than UCLA...

You can only get so much mileage out of something you accomplished five years ago. The program is pointing in the wrong direction, no?

They struggled recently in the tournament.

But they won the Pac 12 this year.

It's nice to see that Duke brought their refs with them to Philly.
