I'm going to jinx it, but the Illini should have this one. Their penetration has been pretty good this half.

Hit the first, brick the second and hope for a rebound?

Illinois was the better team, they deserved the win.

Illini gave em a great run. Terrible call on the out of bounds deal.

What a shitty loss. That's the best team in the ACC? Miami needs to get curb stomped ASAP.

The step-back 3 killed them.

That was Illinois. Just didn't hit enough shots.

If they'd driven the lane in the 1st half, they'd have probably won.

First time I watched Miami this year. The way I have heard some talk about them they were early 90s Duke.

Indiana can handle them.

They suck. I knew it was a lot of hype that their guards were so awesome.

Put them up against some physical Big Ten guards and they are toast. Indiana will kill them.

I'm really excited to see what Groce will do with his own recruits. I like what I'm seeing. However, that Miami locker room scene was awesome.

He'd be real lucky to get a recruit as good as Brandon Paul.

Barkley sounded like an idiot during the post game.

And did you hear Chuck say "I'll bet you" that #illini's 59 pts was lowest of the season? Um, not even lowest of the tourney.

This might just be the best March Madness Tournament yet. The first 2 rounds have been great. Despite the fact that Berns tells me that I shouldn't enjoy upsets, I have enjoyed this years tourny more than any other.
I would love to see FGCU goes to the final 4. That team is fun as hell to watch.
Rooting for Indiana to win the whole thing.

Yeah, it's a fuckin' shame because that was a winnable game. But I don't feel too bad. I'm proud of the boys. That kid stepped back and canned that shot with two guys right on him. That's a big time play.

Ok...as promised...thoughts on a program no one cares about from someone no one cares about...

Was really disappointed with the way the ISU/OSU game ended Sunday...not because they lost but because of how they lost. It was the perfect representation of how their entire season has gone: play a top caliber team in a road game environment to the end and then lose on some bad break or fluke occurrence (in this case a guy who's shooting 29% from beyond the arc drilling a trey with half a second left).

Also, I haven't really heard too much whining from my fellow Cyclone fans, but if anyone wants to bitch about that charge that could have been called a block, go pound sand. Bad calls happen...ask Illinois. The real killer wasn't that call, but the failure to secure the rebound after the second missed free throw towards the end of the game. Wrap that up, and Iowa State gets the last shot, not OSU. And I'd be willing to be Lucious gets that shot and makes it nine times out of ten.

What's even more disappointing is that there aren't any teams out there this year that are really all that dominant, and I honestly believe this team is capable of beating anyone left in this field, provided their three pointers are falling. This isn't to say I really thought they had a chance at winning it all, as that shooting had to go cold at some point, but it hadn't yet, and it would have been fun to see what they would have done this weekend in the remnants of that West bracket.

Finally, a note on Coach Hoiberg. He is the best thing to happen to this program since Tim Floyd, and word is he has his greatest recruiting class coming in next year. That being said, the grumblings about NBA jobs make me nervous. I'd like to think him being a guy who grew up in Ames, went to high school there, and went to college there, he would want to stay. But it's a good barometer on where this program is, because if even the hometown kid who made good and led his team to the tourney bolts for the NBA, there is no way anyone is ever going to look at this job as more than a launching pad for greener pastures...which, realistically, is probably all it is.

Now I get to reluctantly root for Duke...although I have a feeling that will be over after Friday night.

Wow, I have been to 8 Marquette games this year, I can't believe how good they are playing this year.

BC, you are correct I don't think it would have mattered who they played tonight. They have been outstanding.

Vander Blue has the name and the game.

Yeah, that was very impressive tonight, Miami never had a chance. Jamille Wilson I have heard about all year and it looks like is the real deal. They only lose the point guard and Lockett and supposedly have 1 of the top 10 or so recruiting classes coming in, I really hope Buzz doesn't leave.

If Indiana can get past Syracuse it is going to be a fun and interesting matchup with Marq

Hard to believe Syracuse and IU have not faced each other since the national title game in 87

That team has a fucking horseshoe up its ass. Tired of the way announcers are slurping all over Craft too. He just made two dumb basketball plays and they act like he is the best player in the Big 10.
