On M&H yesterday, I'm pretty sure I heard Hawk say that the current Sox coaching staff is the best coaching staff he's ever been around. Ever.

Yesterday on Mully and Hanley, Hawk said this managing/coaching staff is the best he has seen in his 54 years in the game.

Some of these best evers are going to contradict eachother at some point, right?

I imagine the Guillen Cora Connection was the best he's ever saw at some point.

Yeah, but unlike most of the entries in this thread, this one doesnt feel like hyperbole...

Are you saying the posters are exaggerating or Hawk uses hyperbole but this statement sounds right?

I definitely think the current coaching staff is better than what the Sox had with Guillen and Manuel. I'm pretty sure its not the best since in MLB since 1950.

Im saying there's a better than good chance that this is the best managing/coaching staff in the history of baseball.

I disagree.

The Bevington Bunch was better.

In fairness, and assuming its the blast Bo hit in the '93 division clincher, I'd wholeheartedly agree with him here.

The third baseman actually took a step in, thinking it was a high pop up. Then the left fielder did the same thing, before turning around to watch it land in the 3rd-4th row in straightaway left field.

I witnessed that from the right-field bleachers and I also agree.

I had the perfect angle and I thought it was a popout to deep short.

In all honesty, the Sox are well positioned should Ventura not continue. Parent looks like a keeper as a manager.

It was smartest.

And when I heard him say it, I immediately thought of this thread.

Miggy Cabrera, a guy who has a history of alcohol and domestic issues
Manny Ramirez, a guy who got busted for PEDs and made a diving catch in the outfield on a relay throw
Real smart guys there....

And Big Frank had is own issues with the media.

He was saying smart hitters. I see what he's saying.

Although, not sure about Cabrera. But Frank and Manny were great at setting pitchers up.

That would have gotten its own thread.

Manny Ramirez frequently lost his 75K paychecks when he was with the Red Sox.

A couple from tonight....

Best base stealer Hawk ever played against: Luis Aparicio
Best second basemen Hawk has seen in his lifetime: Roberto Alomar. Hawk says he is "possibly" in his top 25 all time greatest players.
