Had an "appearance" at the Bass Pro Shop in Gurnee today. I'm not sure if it was official or not, but him and some other dude were sitting on a bench with a bunch of hunting stuff looking like he wanted someone to talk to him (sort of like pro wrestling's Virgil).

He complimented my dog.

And Chaunce was born because I asked Sarley if Chauncey was his competition and he scoffed saying he was in many more markets.

I sampled his program a few times since I like to fish. Chauncey's show is/was awful. Not sure if it is still on. Might be one of the worst to ever regularly air in this city.

I used to wake up early on saturdays because im up early for work and I was stuck with Chauncey until The Chicago Sports Exchange (aka The Breaking Bad of sports radio) came on.

I remember Chaune used to be on the CLTV sports call-in show once a week with registered sex offender Rob Goldman. It was appointment TV....

I replaced him on CLTV and did the show for four-plus years with Dawn Mitchell, Steve Kashul and Lou Canellis.
I got to meet many local and national athletes and media people. It was quite cool.
I also did the Friday night Sports Roundtable a number of times, including once with Matt Abattacola and Carmen DeFalco.

Whatever became of Chip Porter?

Chip built a salmon boat by hand and charters out of Kenosha.
He keeps a pretty low profile these days.
He won the Bob Uecker charity tournament the last two years it was held before Bob discontinued it.
It was a pretty prestigious tournament.
Chip Porter, of course, was the co-host (along with Mike Norris and/or Dan McNeill) back in the day, when The Score had a Saturday morning outdoor show.
