I agree that he might have been better off by making that comment public, it certainly is a lot better than some of the other stupid shit he's said.

I'm not getting what the problem is here. He said he wants to be the best to play the game, which is OK, but he said it in a national interview, so that's bad? I guess he should have just shrugged his shoulders and gone "aw shucks, I guess I wanna do OK this year." And then people would have jumped down his throat for not having DA FIRE AN" DA PASSION. Come on, you can't have it both ways.

The Bears have a legitimate chance of returning to the Super Bowl and winning it this year. The Bears went to the Super Bowl last year. And yet it seems like some fans can't pull the cactus out of their ass over the QB position, even for this year, when training camp hasn't even begun yet. Get back to me after the preseason, or after game one, and maybe I'll be thinking differently. For now, cool your jets.

I think it makes him sound like a goof. He makes statements that he thinks sound good but cannot backup. He's like a 10 year old that says stuff like I want to be an astronaut and everybody thinks okay kid whatever. He doesn't seem to learn either.

I'd have been happy with a "I want to go back to the Superbowl and win this year."

I dislike Rex more and more each day.

Was he hired to be an eloquent public speaker, or to play quarterback?

While Rex not be Joe Montana, I do think his arrow is pointed up and the Bears QB position is in a far better place than it was when were on the Jim Miller-Chris Chandler-Henry Burris-Kordell Stewart-Chad Hutchinson-Jonathan Quinn-Craig Krenzel-Kyle Orton Merry-go-round, don't you?

He has not yet shown me he is good at either profession.

Wow! Talk about reading into a comment. Where's my microscope?

It's not this one comment. It's "I'm not going to force anything" and then he does. Or the rain was hard to play in or my NYE plan were on my mind.

I'm a little behind on this story, but from what I'm reading, people are upset because Rex Grossman said that he wants to become the best QB ever ? If you don't like Grossman, great, but if this is your position, this would be a reach.

Let's cut through all this shit!! Nobody cares what Rex says...they just wanna bash him because they think he's a shitty quarterback. If he threw for 4000 yards and 30 TDs and 6 INTs and won the Super Bowl, Rex can say he wants to rule the universe and everybody would be OK with it.

...example: Mike Ditka

Well, I liked Miller and Kyle. Seriously, unless you have someone markedly better in the wings, why switch? In a span of 3-4 games, they tend to level out with one another, anyway. Heh, except for poor Henry Burris, who at least was an entertaining interview.
