This Stenhouse guy doesn't seem to be a real strong driver. At least from this amateur's perspective.

I am really struggling with the flow of the race. I don't think all the close ups and quick cuts help. Can't they just have a larger pan out view so you can see more cars in relation to each other on the track to really see what is going on?

If you have Direct TV, there is the Hot Pass channels, where you can ride along with a single driver.
I can't help you follow the action. I have the Nascar.com leaderboard which has a lineup of speeds and the running order.

Clydesdale Ad Alert. :( :( :(

My guy Harvick has cracked the top 10. I'm sure he will find a way to bend some metal or blow an engine though.

All drivers over 30 seconds a lap. Tires are already wearing down.

Vickers and Dinger both need full time rides next year. Both have driven the shit out of the cars this year when given the wheel.

Bum Phillips is a little too old to be coaching anymore.

*genuflect to Coach Phillips*

TRUE STORY: My family was in Lubbock at a Pizza Inn, heading home from a ski trip in Santa Fe, when we heard Bum had been fired. I remember burning my mouth on too hot pizza cheese that then slid on my leg and left a blister on my thigh through my jeans.

I don't know what that means, except Houston football teams have mostly sucked in my life time.

Awesome!

ETA: I love the PINK for HOUSTON HOMER! ♥

Lap 110.

Kyle B starting to lap cars again. 31 cars on the lead lap and that number is going down.

The sun is going down. The lights are coming up on the track. Hopefully we can get green flag pit stops before the next caution. Kyle B is running about half a second faster than the cars he is lapping. 28 cars on the lead lap. Danica now 3 laps down.

So on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being the most exciting race ever and 1 being a Randy Orton match) where does this race fall on that scale? I want to get a gauge of where my enjoyment level should be.

should be about a 4. That number will only go up. Think of it as musical chairs at 190 mph. Still 200 laps left.

I have NO idea who Randy Orton is, but at this point I'd rate it a 7.887.
I HAVE been drinking since 13:15 EDT....so....yeah.
