He also said that D.Rose and his people may look into a malpractice lawsuit and a 2nd surgery is possible. I thought it was irresponsible of The Score and Mully and Hanley to let the caller go on air with that crap.

The caller said only two doctors in the US are able to perform the surgery Rose had and Cole wasn't qualified to do it.

Board Certification is all that is needed to be qualified to do the surgery.

Brian Cole is indeed Board Certified.

How many athletes have ACL surgeries every year?

You really think there are only 2 guys that do every athlete's surgery?

More likely, the caller tried to start a rumour and troll the Score.

I'm not saying you aren't right but I can't recall hearing Dr. Cole's name when it comes to performing any surgery. You would think the Bulls would let the BEST doctor (James Andrews) perform the surgery on their most important asset.

iirc it was reported at the time the Rose Camp was most comfortable with Dr. Cole and wanted him over James Andrews. Here is a trib article stating as much...

...Rose traveled to Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday to visit a clinic associated with the office of noted surgeon James Andrews. Andrews and the Bulls have a shared history; he repaired Jamal Crawford's torn anterior cruciate ligament in 2001.

Two people familiar with the visit said the clinic has a rehabilitation specialist that both Rose's camp and the Bulls had planned to consult all along. Rose could stay awhile.

It's important to remember Rose, his family and advisers all unanimously agreed to have Cole perform the surgery, citing their comfort level, trust and familiarity with him. By all accounts, that trust and comfort level remains.

Any speculation that the visit to the clinic is a sign of dissatisfaction with the rehabilitation process or a setback is merely that. In fact, Cole flat out said that several experts would be used during rehabilitation at the May 15 news conference regarding the surgery....

He was originally scheduled, but that plan got thrown out the window with all the breaking news coverage of the Boston Marathon Bombings. Not sure if Dr. Cole will be rescheduled in the next day or two with Tom & Marc.
