The man from W Va. talked lovingly about the Bears 1982 and 1983 drafts. He said that Angelo needs to hit on a draft like the Monsters did these years.
1982
1. Jim McMahon
3. Tim Wrightman (One nice catch in the 1985 Division Playoffs)
4. Dennis Gentry (Pinky)
5. Perry Hartnett (?)
5. Dennis Tabrun (?)
6. Kurt Becker (Didn't really dent the starting lineup)
7. Henry Waechter (Super Bowl Safety -- woo hoo!)
8. Jerry Doerger (?)
9. Mike Hatchett (?)
10. Joe Turner (?)
11. Guy Boliaux (?)
12. Ricky Young (?)

1983
1. Jimbo Covert (should be in the Hall of Fame)
1. Willie Gault (great for a while)
2. Mike Richardson (really over rated)
3. Dave Duerson (Ditka no likey)
4. Tom Thayer (another solid starter)
4. Pat Dunsmore (thud)
8. Richard Dent (Colonel needs to be in the Hall)
8. Mark Bortz (starter)
9. Rob Fada (?)
9. Mark Zavagin (?)
10. Anthony Hutchinson (?)
11. Gary Worthy (?)
12. Oliver Williams (?)

Broncos took Karl Mecklenburg at 310 -- 12th rounder. He would've looked good on the Bears.

1982 wasn't that great of a draft. 1983 was awesome, but there were a few duds in the mix.

I just think anyone can pick apart every draft. These guys aren't perfect.

83 was excellent

You give Dunsmore, Hutchinson and Fada question marks, but they all made the team. Oliver Williams was a great receiver for the Illini. Unfortunately the Bear used a much higher draft pick on his cousin David a few years later and he was brutal with a bad attitude.

So you would consider them draft hits not misses?
Dunsmore (17 catches, 208 yards and TD for his career)
Fada (four starts in his career)
Hutchinson (no viable stats could be found).

I'd rather have any of these guys who were selected after Dunsmore.
Greg Townsend, Riki Ellison, Reggie Roby, Craig James, Kelvin Bryant, Irv Eatman, Ronnie Lippett, Mark Clayton, Tim Krumrie and Jesse Sapolu.
That's why Dunsmore receives a question mark in my book.

He was just on. Said he's running for some kind of office in WVA.
