I want to put vinyl recordings on my ipod via itunes.

I am computer illiterate. What do I need and what do I need to do?

Some sort of cable obviously, does my MacBook have a micro USB plug? It's a little hole next to the regular USB. The computer has GarageBand if that does anything. Audio output would come out of a preamp with 2RCA cable.

This worked for me once. I just tried it out of curiosity. I have a DVD recorder which I hooked up to my record player. It recorded the LP fine. I guess the next step is to load the DVD to your computer and create the files.

OK. This is good advice, but need advice on software. Anyone know if Garage Band does this or do I need to download something else?
