Chicago is considering following the lead of the state of New York and raise the smoking age to 21. It would be better to outlaw it altogether (they make people wear seat belts to protect their health, yet let millions die of smoking related illnesses) but this is a step in the right direction anyway. The vast majority of smokers begin the nasty habit when they are young. Making it more difficult may prevent many from getting into a bad habit that for all too many last a lifetime....even if that lifetime is shortened by the habit.

Smoking laws, like gun laws don't work. There shouldn't be any laws against them.

The drinking and smoking age should probably be the same.

Although, something about being able to go to war but not have a beer or smoke doesnt sit well with me.

Banning won't happen as the states depend on the tax revenue.

Also you will just create a giant black market. ...and you know you'll hate that.
