From a business standpoint, if the Timberwolves wanted to fire Kurt Rambis, they could've done so right after the NBA season...2 seasons ago. The Timberwolves came under a lot of national criticism because despite Rambis' awful record in 2 seasons in Minnesota, management there dragged their feet for about 3 months prior to Kurt's firing during the summer of 2011.

Business wise, timing of their firing of Rambis didn't affect the T-Wolves any more negatively than having a 32-132 record over two years did.

Sales of rec specs have floored. Good thing Goggles has a stockpile in case of these emergencies.

I wonder if the same fate awaits current Minnesota HC Rick Adelman in due time.

Adelman actually deserves more of a chance. Rambis was a complete fuck up and idiot and tried implementing the wrong scheme for the team....Adelman has had to deal with Rubio and Love playing like 15% of the time
They showed with a healthy team they could have at least cracked the playoffs as an 8 seed and they only would have improved

I'm a big Adelman guy. Dude gets no respect everywhere he goes. In Houston, he had to deal with the Yao shit year after year. He also had some nice runs (Hey Hey!!) in Portland and Sacramento too.

We're trying to have a discussion here.

I actually just read a stat that Sacramento did not miss the playoffs when Adleman was their coach and have not made it back since he left.

In Phoenix, the Suns fired GM Lance Blanks. His firing might also mean the end of Interim HC Lindsey Hunter. Also, might the Atlanta Hawks be pondering a coaching change of their own to replace Larry Drew if they bellyflop vs. the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Playoffs?

As for the Bobcats, here are 2 names SI's Chris Mannix mentioned via Twitter. He is currently a college basketball analyst for NBC Sports Network, but is a proven coach with a talent for development. Mannix suggested former Heat & Magic HC Stan Van Gundy. Another name Mannix Tweeted is former Sonics & Blazers' HC Nate McMillan. He was interested in the Charlotte job last summer before they settled on Mike Dunlap instead. Might he get another look?

Welp...so much for Lebron going back to Cleveland.

It's going to be hilarious in a couple years when the Cavs pursue Lebron, and preemptively fire Brown so they can show Lebron that they want him back.

It's a puzzling move by that Cavs' franchise if Mike Brown gets another chance.

Meanwhile, might the Sacramento Kings' move to Seattle soon become a reality? On ESPN Radio this morning, NBA Commissioner David Stern told Colin Cowherd that the Kings' vote could be determined by the 1st or 2nd week of May, according to KJR SportsRadio's Dave "Softy" Mahler's Twitter. "Softy" has also Tweeted that the Sacramento group hasn't matched the Seattle group's asking price to relocate the team. Stay tuned.

Sheesh........it's not just any contract for Mike Brown, it's reportedly a 5 year deal. FIVE!

All sides are also trying to work out the $11 million the Lakers still owe Brown.

On top of all that, I'm not sure what they expected out of Byron Scott. The only talent they gave him was Kyrie and Tristan Thompson. I thought Scott brought both of them along rather nicely. I'd say that in Thompson's case, his blossoming is even a little ahead of schedule.

Cavs, Mike Brown five-year deal will be worth $20 million-plus, sources tell Y! Sports.

Byron Scott thought he was going to coach LeBron James before he decided to take his game to South Beach. It's kinda like when Tim Floyd (remember him?) thought he was going to inherit coaching Michael Jordan when he replaced Phil Jackson some 15 years ago. So much for that!

Wow...just wow. Gets fired 4 games into the Lakers season and then gets 20M guaranteed from a place that he was fired from a few years earlier. I love this game! Glad we had that lockout to cut down stupid owners from spending money.

I can understand Sacramento wanting to keep their team, but what is the downside for the rest of the league of moving a franchise to a much better market? You would think 29 teams in the league would want this.

They wouldn't even be called the Kings if they moved to Seattle. Those fans deserve a team, even if it's an expansion one. They supported the Sonics for some 4 decades before previous management there relocated the team to Oklahoma City, now known as the Thunder.

They're said to be ready to build a brand new arena that could not only host an NBA team, but possibly an NHL team as well up there in Seattle. What stinks about this story is that guess who heads the NBA's Relocation Committee? It's a guy named Clay Bennett, who was part of the ownership team that relocated the Sonics to Oklahoma City many years ago.

Bennett's ownership team didn't want the Sonics to play at KeyArena which prompted their move in the first place. KeyArena would've been the proposed new Sonics' home for 2 seasons while construction of a new arena was going to be built.

I disagree, Herb Kohl will not sale the team to anybody thlat will move them. His main reason for getting out of the Senate was because he knew could get a new facility with him in office. They don't move unless Herb says they move.

I don't get it. The Bradley Center is only 25 years old. Why not just renovate?

Apparently it is not a option. That building was actually built to try and get a hockey team by the Petits. If you have been there enough, it is just not a good basketball arena. There is land that you can already tell they are planning to build on, it is on the Northwest side and it makes no sense it is vacant like it is.

There's already two arenas on that block. Now the city wants 3?

The Bradley Center would be torn down, the old Arena would stay there.

Ah ok, cool.

They might as well tear both down, and just have one state of the art facility downtown. I agree that the Bradley Center has to go though. It might only be 25 years old, but in comparison to all other arenas in the league, it is one of the oldest, and definitely dated as hell. Walking into the building transforms you to the 1980's. Everything just looks bad and tacky. They would have to gut the entire thing. And the sight lines in the stadium are awful for basketball. I guess being that they wanted to recruit a pro hockey team, it makes sense.

I thought BMO Harris Bank, which is a Bulls' sponsor, took over naming rights of the Bucks' home arena in Milwaukee this season. It's now called the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

It's a best 2 out of 3 in Grizzlies/Clippers tonight in Game 5. You'd think winning the Pacific Division for the first time in their franchise history would mean Vinny Del Negro's job as head coach is safe for L.A.'s other NBA team, right? Wrong.

I saw a story on ProBasketballTalk.com last week in which VDN's job as Clippers' HC is on shaky ground and there's a chance the Clippers might make a coaching change if Del Negro's team doesn't get it done.

Predicted that last year shark, Vinnie is gone if they loseto Memphis ...too much talent on that team. Phil Jackson would probably be interested.
