Terry more so than Dan.

Dan was talking about the media coverage of the award.

It's up there for sure. Also:

The Joshua Tree: Where The Streets Have No Name/I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For/With or Without You
Rain Dogs: Singapore/Clap Hands/Cemetery Polka
After the Gold Rush: After the Gold Rush/Only Love Can Break Your Heart/Southern Man
Kid A: Idioteque/Morning Bell/Motion Picture Soundtrack
Gentlemen: Gentlemen/Be Sweet/Debonair
The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle: E Street Shuffle/4th of July Asbury Park/Kitty's Back ORRRR Incident on 57th Street/Rosalita/New York City Serenade
Remain in Light gets the rare 1-2-3-4 punch: Born Under Punches/Crosseyed and Painless/The Great Curve/Once in a Lifetime

Now if you preprogrammed the cd player to go The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle: E Street Shuffle/4th of July Asbury Park/Incident on 57th Street/Rosalita you would be smokin' 8)

Dan didn't like the media covering it like a big deal.

Terry didn't like it being named for an average player who no one cares about.

I'm sorry more people didn't care about Brian Piccolo before he died of cancer and they made a movie about it

let's name it after Ray Lewis

His claim to fame is dying.

And it was a tv movie.

RPB,

I really wasn't at all. It was about three attempts at trolling in roughly thirty minutes. I practiced what I preach, and decided I had other things to do.

Yeah, but "TV movies" of the 1970s were at least on major networks as semi-big deals. It's not as if Brian's Song was just Lifetime schedule-filler.

The NHL has the Bill Masterton Award for perseverance through adversity, named for a fringe major leaguer who made it to the expansion Minnesota North Stars just in time to take a nasty hit and die of brain trauma. Should he not have an award, considering his career sucked? And besides, what would he know about triumphing over adversity, anyway? He died!

Maybe it's because Brian Piccolo is Italian*. I bet Mike North has a framed and autographed Brian's Song poster in Pappyland.

*CLARIFICATION EDIT: that is to say, he is an Italian who is inordinately admired by Italians on the basis of being Italian

Yeah but that's some seriously fucking lazy trolling: wondering why Chicago Bears fans/media care about an award given to a Chicago Bears player, named after a former Chicago Bear player, whose life was immortalized in a movie about the Chicago Bears because he died of cancer while playing for the Chicago Bears.

Directors still cross-cut to pitchers who are denied wins, as if it matters. He pitched great, we know it, and the "win" stat sucks. Stop.

Could the pitcher (GASP) be upset his team is no longer winning?

He's not even really trolling anymore. He's just using a bunch of adverbs and dependent clauses to say really dumb shit.
