Been awhile since I've started one of these threads but this trend has gotten way out of hand.

It started with the half calf pad, ala Michael Jordan. Then some guys took to wearing knee pads with the calf pad, likely for injury purposes. Now most players in the league play with their entire legs covered in just...gear. What purpose do the compression pants serve? Why does Kevin Durant look like he's wearing my girl's tights? And even moreover, why are even NBA 12th men sitting at the end of the bench with all this gear on?

I mean, look at the Bulls for instance. Boozer, Hinrich, Gibson, Robinson, Butler, and even Rose before he got hurt, all started wearing the tights. I might be a bit old school, but I just don't understand.
