I think that was the case earlier on, but in the past twelve years you'll notice some consistent trends in FA signings and trade demands: Guys want to sign or get traded to NY (Howard, Marbury, Anthony), Orlando (McGrady), Miami, or LA. No one demands a trade to Chicago, nor have the Bulls been able to sign anyone better than Carlos Boozer or Tim Thomas.

I'm beginning to agree with those who say players ultimately prefer warmer weather cities, with the exception of NY. Chicago is the third largest market, but that hasn't been enough to attract a marquee free agent in over a decade.
