Eh,doubt they have significant weight going forward. Its one city left in chaos while the all 7 kingdoms are at war. The last city was left up for grabs too. With that army n those dragons she has little to be concerned with.

I don't get the theon thing, the men that traded him in were killed? Theon is being blamed?

Not saying it's a bad move. Just that Dany freed a whole city of slaves and killed the masters so a pretty large city has lost all structure. Also, Astapor is in Slaver's Bay which has two nearby sister slave cities in Mereen and Yunkai.

Ok, I get it. Hadn't thought about it that way and not having read the books didn't know about the other
cities. Thanks for clueing me in.

No it doesn't.

Mereen does not exist.

Saw this today and thought I would post it. Bell Tower at the University of Wisconsin-Madison plays the
Game of Thrones theme. Wonder how long it took this guy to learn how to play the bells!

I think freeing a slave city with unsullied and dragons is likely a huge thing. revolt...and then they all follow her.

I'm all for spoilers, I'll forget in two years anyway.

i always get a kick out of these. the one set to the 1995 type TV theme was good too.

if you've ever seen "the room", there are some great TV theme sendups on that as well.

Eh, I don't find her attractive. She's ok..nothing special ...her new friend is much more attractive, the freed slave / translator.

Hound's fight with Dondarrion appears to be this Sunday. Looks fantastic from the trailer.

I just found out the guy who cut off Jamie's hand is the band manager from Almost Famous.

Here's an observation: So, HBO changed Theon's sister's name from Asha to Yara, because Asha is too similar to Osha (the woman traveling with Bran and Rickon). But Yara is almost exactly like Arya. Fucking dumb.

Yeah, I had noticed that, and its not like the guy is a stud actor or anything, but it just made the scene that much cooler.

Almost 600 pages into the third book and I feel the same way. The visuals of the show really bring home some of the book scenes, but its not really capturing the book well.

More naked ass than a party in Darkside's basement. I think this whole season will be a big letdown with a cliffhanger, then the next season will be like having napalm rubbed in your eyes.

Okay. I think I need to re-watch some episodes. But who were the people who originally captured Brienne and Jamie? And who is this 'brotherhood' and how is that guy coming back from the dead like it ain't no thang.

Not sure why Theon is getting so much screen time... Unimportant story at this point with so much going on.

I can live with shortcuts but I dont like adding extra shit that isnt necessary to advance the story.

I was an episode behind so I watched the last two last night.

How depressing seeing that badass Khalessi scene with all the army marching and the dragons flying overhead... My wife was blown away and kept saying look out Lannisters... :( :(

The man might not be able to write a fully formed plot line but my god, he can write about food. Sometimes just reading a couple of chapters makes me hungry. It is a bad series to read if you are on a diet.

THAT. NEVER. HAPPENED.

At least I hope it doesn't happen in the show.

And I agree about the time being devoted to Theon. It's unnecessary.

Unless this is the point where Martin has told them what his plans are for books 6 and 7 and we need to keep up with Theon??

Who am I kidding he doesnt know how to finish his next chapter let alone his outline for the balance of the series....

I think he may be getting Robert Kirkman syndrome where he wants to go in different directions from the books.

Theon will be the Lord of Light by season 5 and Rob will reek.

There are several outlaw groups.

- The Brotherhood Without Banners has captured Arya. They are led up by Lord Beric and Thoros. Thoros is a priest and follows the Lord of Light, who is featured prominently in the book. I only assume as time goes on, the prominence becomes larger. As its a Song of Ice and Fire, fire plays a significant role. With the return of dragons, fire is being intensified. Magic works better, wildfire does damage like no one remembers and now Thoros is able to bring people back from the dead. Hopefully not to spoil, but that won't be the only time you see Thoros' gift of resurrecting.

- The outlaws led by the Goat (the manager from Almost Famous) is a different band of outlaws I believe. They are the ones that captured Brienne and Jamie and brought them to Bolton.

Not a fan of this episode. Don't like the Melisandre angle getting Gendry as that plotline is completely different in the books. I don't see how combining Gendry and Edric characters is possible in the long run. Osha and Meera fighting was dumb. Why would Osha be threatened by a 13 year old girl? The Theon stuff is happening too soon, do we have to watch torture for a whole season? (Although the guy playing Ramsay Bolton is creepy good). I wish they would have named the Frey's that met with Robb. I am guessing Lame Lothar was one but if the other was supposed to be Black Walder he wasn't very imposing. The Blackfish is still awesome and steals every scene he is in. I am torn on the Littlefinger/Varys scene. I like when these two interact but this one seemed kind of forced - and I never really got the sense (in the books) that Baelish was cruel like they made him out to be.

Agree for the most part.

I don't mind the Theon stuff but I'm sure it will become annoying if it continues for 2 more seasons. Ramsay Bolton is fantastic. The actor, not the character.
