Phil Jackson is said to be more interested in a front office job, not necessarily coaching. Phil would also want a lot of $$$$, and I don't think the Clippers would want to break the bank.

Phil could get revenge by making l.a. clip city. I think Phil would make a poor g.m.

NBA says summer league will feature tournament play and a crowned champion for the first time this summer. Title game July 22.

Why not just have a preseason tournament as well?

This is a stupid idea.

The Western Conference took center stage last night with the Nuggets forcing a Game 6 following a 107-100 home win by Denver over the Golden State Warriors at the Pepsi Center. However, Warriors' HC Mark Jackson accused the Nuggets of dirty play and trying to take cheap shots at his team's star guard Steph Curry following his team's Game 5 loss. The Warriors can still finish the job with a win tomorrow night at Oracle Arena in Oakland, leading their series 3-2.

As for the Clippers, that hot seat might be getting even hotter for HC Vinny Del Negro after his team's 103-93 Game 5 loss to the Grizzlies at Staples Center late last night in Los Angeles. The Grizzlies now lead the series 3-2 with Game 6 Friday night at FedEx Forum in Memphis. The Clips might possibly be without forward Blake Griffin with the team's backs against the wall. Griffin played just 20 minutes and scored only 4 points before leaving Game 5 due to a sprained ankle which he initially hurt in practice Monday. Not a good omen.

The story of Vinny Del Negro's job, or maybe lack thereof, is legit.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Timberwolves have fired GM David Kahn. Might HC Rick Adelman be far behind?

Seems kinda harsh.

Can Kahn help it that Rubio tore his ACL, Love broke his hand twice, Pekovic is pretty damn good but frequently hurt.....etc

Shved seems like a nice find.

I could go on. I don't feel like it.

KS, the only thing I could figure is that they feel the Timberwolves underachieved. I'm not sure why David Kahn paid the price as GM. Makes me wonder about HC Rick Adelman's own job now in trouble.

I thought Kahn's firing was expected, no? Botched draft picks like Wes Johnson, three PGs in one draft, including Johnny Flynn, alienating Kevin Love, signing a disabled Brandon Roy, etc. From a distance, he makes Angelo look like a draft day sage. Am I wrong?

Hmmm...Former Bulls & Lakers' HC Phil Jackson appears to be in high demand, even if he doesn't want to coach again. Jackson has been hired as a consultant (?) in the search for the Pistons' next head coach.

Hmmmmmm

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 27m
Y! Sources: San Antonio assistant Mike Budenholzer has emerged as a candidate for Detroit's head coaching job.

I think this job is going to go to Phil's guy, Brian Shaw. Book it!

Nets search for a new coach has started. P.J. Carlesimo won't be brought back. Jeff Van Gundy is a top target, sources say.

At this point, can we label Deron Williams as a coach killer? They need a guy like Phil running that team.

Jerry Sloan, Avery Johnson and P.J. Carlsimo all gone in less than a year and a half.

On one hand I'm kind of surprised Skiles would be considered for anything
But then again, your mid to lower tier teams are never going to attract a Jerry Sloan or Phil Jackson, so people like him will always be employed

That should go well!

Deron Williams will literally kill him by the end of the first day of training camp.

Scott Skiles the rumored frontrunner for the Nets' HC job? Really? Also, Dwight Howard might be doing the Texas Two-Step...Houston & Dallas among the rumored destinations. Oh brother!

Howard to Houston would be a great move for them and for him.

Asik > Howard

I really like the direction Houston is heading, and I can't see how they can possibly pay Asik that much to sit on the bench. Trade him back to the Bulls? :D

Asik > Howard

I'm thinking about the combination of both.

I heard Dan Patrick talk about the Dwight Howard story this morning on his show. He thinks Houston would be the ideal landing spot for the big man if he decided to leave the Lakers this summer. I'm not so sure even though they have James Harden, not to mention Jeremy Lin & Omer Asik. I'm also not sure the Rockets have enough salary cap space to pull off such a move, let alone Dallas for that matter.

In the Mavericks' case, I think owner Mark Cuban wants to make a bold move after a disappointing, non-playoff season just 2 years removed from winning the NBA Championship for the first time in franchise history. It's my understanding that Dirk Nowitzki is willing to take a pay cut, but again, I'm not sure what the Mavs' salary cap is like. I've been under the impression that they have space to pull it off, but then again, maybe not.

Why are you not sure that Houston would be the ideal place for Howard?
