Yes, I am going to finally go meatball on this topic.

You would think he would be ashamed to sit there on that bench while his teammates are battling through exodus levels of plagues to win this series.

Nomination approved.

The time for this to be said has arrived.

All will be forgotten when he gets back on the court. We may not think so now, but it will...

Yeah, same here.

I would have at least made him dress last night. Just use him as a decoy to get in the Nets' head. Bring him out David Lee style for a quick 1-2 minute rotation just to get the crowd amped up. He could at least taken the 5 minutes they played Teague last night, and he would have been a hero.

but he gets absolutely no quarter from criticism should he dog it in the future. This has permanently damaged his credibility. I don't believe for a second that his teammates aren't questioning it in private.

I dont think so, man.

When I held this belief, I wasnt counting on several bulls players playing on bad ankles, bad backs, gunshot wounds etc

It just looks real bad and there is no reversing that.

Plus, Mike would have been out there already

Probably so. I'm just saying that this won't seem like a big deal at all next season...

I do have to add that it is completely out of character for Rose. He has given his heart and body to this team when he played. This makes the whole situation even more bizarre.

guys sitting there with puke buckets fighting to get back into the battle and he just sits

i always thought in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter
even with a fully healthy Rose, they weren't going to beat the Heat this year
so why not let him keep resting
but i agree at this point, with others battling through their own injuries he could go out there and give something...even like DB said, if he played 5-10 minutes at the very least it would be a shot of adrenaline to the team and fans and i doubt that's going to harm him any

It won't but it is the same stain as 1.8.

The second Derrick Rose throws down his first dunk, everyone will be back in his corner.

Besides, what makes you think his teammates want him back this season? They got this far by themselves. Finish the season.

I think that's true KI if he ever wins a championship.

If he never does, this will always be a part of his NBA epitath.

Just like Howard and Lebron did? People still hate both of those people, and this is worse than that.

He's literally refusing to enter every game.

I'm not sure making a mockery of your hometown by announcing to the world on ESPN that you are leaving is better than sitting out a season following major knee surgery.

I'm not sure what your point is in saying that. Are you conflicted about whether or not it is better?

I consider LBJ and D-Howard's situations much worse.

Iman Shumpert being back since January when he hurt himself on same day with same injury hasn't helped things.

Rose is choosing not to play when the biggest experts in the world on the subject think he should. Could you imagine the uproar if Lebron decided he didn't feel like playing and skipped the playoffs?

He needs to get acclimated to competitive NBA basketball. You can't simulate that in practice. I doubt he's playing in the summer league and even that isn't equal to an NBA game. He's going to have an abnormally long period of time completely away from the game. He's going to have to get over the fear of injuring himself again next year which puts his progress for getting back to where he was behind schedule by another 6 months.

It's also his job to play.

The Bulls probably aren't winning the title this year with or without him, but that's probably true for the next 5 years too so I don't really think it's relevant.

The Bulls winning a playoff series.

What do you feel are the detriments?

I agree that he needs to get acclimated, but i'm not sure now is the time to do that...that should have been last ~10 games of the regular season.
I do think this years forecast is relevant- yes he was medically cleared to play but we are talking in terms of weeks and months...not years. of course we are going on the assumption that at this point he's 100% healthy and able to play
