He's healthy and refusing to play. Sports fans would rather root for a criminal than a guy like that. I'm honestly surprised that you are honestly surprised that people would be upset about something like this.

That's not really a meatball thought. At this point, it's probably fair to say those still defending Rose are the meatballs. There's not one logical reason to defend what he's doing. He deserves every criticism leveled towards him over this.

I also agree that people won't easily forgive and forget when he comes back and dunks. BRick is right, he is refusing to enter games when he is healthy enough to play. That's basically a cardinal sin in every sport.

let me clarify , i want him out there and if he's healthy he should be

but i also don't think this is so heinous of an offense as others do, and i still think there could be something going on that we're not aware of since the whole situation has been shrouded in mystery and lies

If there was something else medically wrong with him or some other issue his agent/people/ADIDAS would be insane not to come out and tell the public. They have to know how badly he's getting bbq'd over this.

It should be noted in here that Bagels laissez faire attitude towards this is only due to Golden State's continued playoff run. When they get swept by SA next round he will be able to refocus and see Rose for the douche he has become.

Upset is one thing. People are making it sound like he committed murder.

i'm not sure
if there was a setback, they wouldn't have wanted to let the public know 1-2 months ago because then it would harm ticket sales
and at this point it would be a disruption

The tickets for today were likely already sold 3-4 months ago. I don't think it would effect anything in that regard.

The only logical explanation for this is one of two tings; Either Rose is just a giant bitch, or he is under orders from the Bulls to not play this season.

I couldnt disagree more. I think most people, like dolphin, have given him a very big benefit of the doubt. People are making it out like he's being a bad teammate. And he is. How can you not reach the same conclusion when seeing him and Noah juxtaposed next to eachother during the series?

I could see the Bulls being worried about ticket sales. But if they were, and something was wrong, I think it was beyond an awful decision to leak that he's healthy enough to play.

From Rose's people's perspective, I doubt they care about ticket sales. In fact, it seems abundantly clear that they are solely concerned with Rose and couldnt give less of a shit about the Bulls team.

Then what else could it be, Ivan? He's been cleared by doctors. Reportedly, he's been cleared by the team. He's practicing with the team. He's at the shoot arounds. He is pretty much doing everything an NBA player does except for, you know, actually playing in the games.

Based on what we know, what else is there to speculate on other than somebody from the Bulls is telling him not to play, or he's just very weak mentally?

i wasn't talking about today
i'm talking about that regular season game against the Raptors at home in mid-March
if people still think there's a chance he's coming back and don't know when, they might still be compelled to go
if its announced he's 100% not coming back this season at all, everyone pretty much gives up on the season

Yep. It's most likely the 3rd scenario - God hasn't told him he's ready yet. I hope that happens sometime soon

true...and if that were the case, i'm not sure how i'd feel- sorry for Rose since he's allowing others to control him, or that he's a giant bitch for allowing it

Rose is definitely being weak minded when it comes to this. He's either choosing himself not to play, which is weak. Or he's letting other people make reputation-altering decisions for him. Also weak. Not really any possible scenarios where he's being mentally strong right now...

He could be doing it to prove a point to JR & Co. That would just make him a terrible team mate.

If that is the case then he should say talk to the team.

But since he has been medically cleared for some time now, I highly doubt that is the case.

Just for the record, when you are talking about the structure of a knee, a setback would likely require additional surgery. It's not like a sprained ankle where you can sprain it again.

I think that would still fall under the mentally weak category. Unless there's someone who kidnapped someone in his family and the ransom demand was for Rose to not play again this season, and to stfu about the kidnapping, I dont think him letting his reputation be damaged like this and staying quiet about it is a good idea for him.

would you be more or less happy if he were to come back for a Heat series

I think the Heat series is a foregone conclusion. His teammates needed him now.

those who feel he's completely used up any remaining goodwill or benefit of the doubt, i can't say i really have a counter
but GD said earlier how this is all totally out of character for him, i.e. he was a hard worker, good teammate, etc.
i agree and that's why i personally am still, at this point, willing to give him some benefit of the doubt. I just can't believe that all of a sudden he decided screw my teammates and fans, i'd rather sit on the bench in a suit than play even though i can . it just doesn't make any sense.

Let's start a conspiracy theory. BJ Armstrong wants to make Forman and Paxson look bad he was passed over for the consideration of the Bulls GM job. At the same time, sitting is probably in the long term best interests of his client.

That's an incredibly dangerous game to play. If JR even considered it a possibility he'd clip BJ like a gelded horse and his career would be over.

I assume every minute played is a stress on the body and that there is only a certain amount of stress the body could take in a career. Reserving the stress to a later date extends the career for a future contract while having no impact on the ability to earn in the present.

It makes sense if the reason he isn't playing is that he's scared. That's not the same as not caring about your team, or not being a hard worker, etc. It's a natural and understandable emotion that only the individual involved can overcome. Unfortunately it's not an acceptable excuse in a professional environment.
