So he didn't say in this thread that being a homosexual is a sin. Thanks for finding that Speeps.

Why don't you just come out and say you agree with Mini Ditka instead of asking rhetorical questions and beating around the bush? Its a waste of time, and your archaic thoughts aren't worth the wait.

I'm flattered that you took four hours to come up with a response to my post. I'm even more flattered that you find my thoughts important enough to inquire about them.

If that's what you take from it, that's fine.

But we both know you're smarter than that.

Mini Ditka believes the Bible which says homosexuality is an abomination.

Having a same sex attraction is not a sin is pretty definitive language.

I would whole heartedly agree with that statement.

So Speeps, is your issue with MD, because all he is doing is repeating what the Bible clearly states, or is your issue with God?

So God is cool with homosexuality in theory, just not in practice.

My issue is with the humans who wrote the book and the humans who use said book to divide rather than unify, to hate rather than love.

If that's Mini Ditka or anyone else, then yes I have a problem with them.

I'll pray that they are able to accept their brothers and sisters in Christ and follow Jesus' example.

And I'll also point out their stupidity on this message board.

Have a blessed night Brother 'Crest.

Yes, actually, when you meet St. Peter, he reads you your Miranda Rights, and you have the right to an attorney.

If you're gay, you only get a public defender.

OK, I'm going to answer this without trying to get into a fight. I actually do want to know your opinion. Unfortunately, you never give it. You just interpret everything the way you would like to interpret it, depending on the argument, and then you "hint" at what you might think with one-sentence questions, while defending Chas or Mini Ditka. If you have an opinion, why don't you just come out and say it? Are you afraid to voice your opinion, or do you not have time to type? It's very curious to me.

In regards to the four hour response, I'm not even sure what your question was, but let me clarify this... any conversations we have regarding this topic already take a high level of assumptions on my part that I don't agree with. We can debate what the Bible means all day long, but it's really all irrelevant to me because I don't necessarily believe anything contained in the Bible. I do believe that Jesus was a great guy who we could all model ourselves after by helping the less fortunate, doing unto others, not judging others, and trying to help the greater good. But it makes absolutely no difference to me which sins you think are worse than others or how some days you have a strict interpretation of the Bible, and others, the Bible is open to your own personal interpretation. There is simply too much hypocrisy, confusion, and opinion associated with the entire Bible for arrogant humans to judge everyone else based on their narrow view of its words. It's funny because one of the arguments frequently quoted for existence of the Divine is that we, as mortals, cannot comprehend God or His ways... unless it's about gays. Then humans know everything they need to know and many are more than comfortable judging them as though they were themselves Divine. No, I don't believe in any of it, but I don't have any qualms with anyone who does. I just wish that everyone who does would follow the example of other Christians - many on this message board - and work to improve themselves while leaving the judging to their God.

Your premise is flawed for a couple of reasons.

God is loving Father that sets forth expectations. God does not, has not and will not change. It's the height of arrogance to think that He needs to. He created us. He certainly knows what is best for us. He is the Expert in matters of morality.

If you don't like what the Bible teaches, engage Him in a conversation. He's heard worse I'm sure.
Calling people names on a message board and trying to make 3+3= 7 is not a wining formula for you.

Seacrest, isnt there a possibility that the Bible does not represent God's Will in a 100% accurate way?

Its really just the writers interpretations

There are numerous letters that did not end up in the Bible.

My faith teaches that the Bible is the inspired word of God. In simpler terms, the authors of its books wrote what God wanted them to write.

A question for you, do you belive that Christ said, "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

I dont know if he said that. Id believe he did.

Madison church to host LeRoy Butler in support of gay rights

One church in Madison wants to show that not all of Christendom has a problem with out-gay athletes.

St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church on the city's west side has announced that it is raising money to pay for an event featuring former Packers star LeRoy Butler, who announced earlier this week that a church he was scheduled to speak at had canceled the event after he tweeted a message of support for Jason Collins, who recently became the first NBA player to come out as gay.

“LeRoy walked away from a good amount of money in order to stand for what’s right,” said St. Dunstan’s rector Miranda Hassett in a statement. “We just want to make that right, and to let him and everyone else know that most churches join him in extending the message of love and acceptance.”

Rob Chappell, a spokesman for the church, says Butler has agreed to do the event, which has not yet been scheduled.

“Like many churches we don’t have a great deal of funding, but we try to make ourselves known as living God’s word in a very welcoming way,” he said.

Good for them.

Wait a tick...
So lusting after a woman (and not acting upon it) is adultry with her in his heart and thus a sin... but homosexual attraction is not a sin (so long as it's not acted upon)?

I hope you aren't taking the explanations of some people in this thread as the official stance on Christian beliefs...

Where does that statement diverge from the official stance on Christian Beliefs?
I'm not being a smartass, I never really learned anything about Christianity. I mean, I always thought Dante's Inferno was the Quik Stop.
