first, let me tell everyone it is in the former Ubberstein location, new tenants! (Clark and Cornelia)

Thus it is right down the street from me, so I gave them a few days to get their shit together, before I visited.

1. It's "SWEET BABY RAYS"...AND YOU DON'T GIVE ME ANY EXTRA BBQ SAUCE!!!! For a $23$ Slab of Baby Backs, with Fries and slaw! Serious???? YOUR NAME IS THE DAMN SAUCE! Not that I love the Corn Syrup based Kraft now owned product, but it needed more sauce and the name of your place is the name of the sauce!! I will just chalk that one up to opening day jitters! Cmon Man!

2. The Ribs are really good! I am a picky rib snob! The Barn on Wrightwood..sucks! crosbys kitchen...F U! The Piggery..you can take your alleged fire and shove it...or Sheffields (next time you sell me day old ribs, think about it!) .,...but theez is sum fine azz ribs at Rays!.....they are just a notch below Lillys, which I think are the best in town..besides mine, but I am only making 10 slabs at a time and it makes it tough to plan the timing on slabs all night for customers.

3. THE SAUCE! How do you not have mini bottles of the stuff to give out in every order! Or even a small Solo cup filled with the product????

4. Will come back and try some of the other stuff now, but I always feel the Baby Backs are the toughest to make and keep, ready for customers to consume, as they take multiple hours to prepare right! I will always try a new rub place and I am usually disappointed! But gotta say RAYS.....Just missed...GIMME SOME DAMN SAUCE....HOW DOU NOT GIVE ME BBQ SAUCE??????? But thanks for the extra set of Plastic utensils!

Come to think of it, I've never seen a bigfan thread about a place of business that was like "I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and all of my needs and sensibilities were adequately addressed."

I wouldn't pay $23 for ribs if you blew me with them. Ribs are a rip off.

I could see how a handjob would work if you pulled out one of the bones and used the cavity as some kind of meat sleeve. But a blowjob with a piece of meat? I just don't see how it works logistically.

If your dick is the same girth as a rib bone, I am sorry.

Why would anyone go to Sweet Baby Ray's? You should expect badness.

The amazing low IQ in this thread is beyond normal.

1. I never once said the ribs were bad. I actually said they have some really good ribs. I was surprised and expected lower quality but they were really good. How someone took that as me not liking them, makes me wonder.

2. I got the Ribs to go, so I wasnt going to walk back for the sauce.

3. Its sauce for ribs. Which alone is bad to forget, but the name of the place is the name of the DAMN SAUCE! They should be throwing the Sauce at ya! in small SWEET BABY RAYS BOTTLES!

4. Making ribs at home is not a spur of the moment choice. Unless you make shitty ribs.

5. Sheffields is actually known for Ribs. They have awards from contests all over the place, but just guessing Kirkwood is one of the cool guys that will tell me he is usually so drunk when he is there he never saw any of the 50 awards on the wall. Weird huh.

6. I have always been impressed and satisfied with a meal at Gibsons.

Any other questions?

Why won't you walk 1/2 a block for some sauce?

Have you really not paid WWN for winning the poker tournament, or was this just a work by the two of you?

P.S.
I have never had ribs anywhere better than from my own grill.

I won't walk BACK to get the sauce which should be in my $25 bag. I will let her know next time. They actually kept the same bartenders from Ubberstein.

Yes, unreal over rated shit from a broiler! People waiting in line for the stuff.

Shows you the power of hype. Anchors ribs are like getting them from a 24 hr diner!

I have to disagree with you. They're good for what they are. You're a barbecue guy and they aren't barbecue. There's a section on the menu at Gale Street with a few paragraphs talking about ribs and it's very non-judgmental, it basically says that there are a lot of different styles and some people may like some better than others. These ribs aren't smoked. They use an old recipe and probably par-boil them before throwing them on the broiler and then hitting them with sauce in the last few minutes. I wouldn't even try to compare them to Lillie's Q or Honky Tonk. It's just something else entirely.

Yeah. Why didn't you just ask for extra sauce? Can't presume anything nowadays. When I go to get a burger and bring it back to the office to eat, I make sure I ask for extra ketchup, napkins, etc. I think its a pretty low level IQ type thing to get something from a BBQ place TO GO and not ask for the extra sauce or whatever.

Why don't any businesses seem to work at that location. The last couple of tennants have been solid brands in Heaven on Seven and Uberstien. Heaven has a nice sized restaurant in the loop and still has a line down the hall at lunch every single day. Uberstien fills much larger restaurants at other locations and should be exactly what a warm and fuzzy cubbie fan should want out of a restaurant in the neighborhood.

Why is that corner so toxic for a restaurant?

You know there's like always one, location in your neighborhood, one store location that's constantly, changing hands. Everybody has this in their neighborhood, it's a leather store, then it's a yogurt shop, then it's a pet supply. It's like constantly changing and nobody can do business there. It's like some sort of Bermuda triangle of retail, you know? Stores open up and then they just disappear without a trace. Nobody knows what happened to 'em. I guess eventually when like aliens land in the mother ship from Close Encounters, the bottom will slowly open and all these store owners will come wondering out, in a daze going "I thought there would be more walk-in traffic didn't you??"

I can't get my low IQ around that one.
