I have yes. Their quality is on the improve. They were plagued early on with different batches having different tastes.

Unicorn's Revenge is a nice double IPA. Nice mix of sweet and hoppy - more leaning to the sweet end. Potent at 10%

Standard Issue is their IPA offering. It's a good refreshing IPA style - pretty much something you expect in an IPA but won't blow you away.

Ninja vs. Unicorn - this is a hop monster. Definitely lighter in the alcohol department than Unicorn's revenge but still got a kick.

Haven't had anything from Pipeworks. Now I'm intrigued. Is it available at Binnys?

Asked and answered. Looks like Dobby's has it near me.

Yes, my Binny's carries this. Pipeworks actually delivers by hand.

Ahh, now that sounds familiar. Deliver it out of the back of their vans, right?

Yep. Apparently when they first started they delivered out of an old Toyota Corolla.

I have had Pipeworks before but I don't remember which ones. I get them and Spiteful mixed up. One was called Blood of the Unicorn maybe? Imperial Red Ale, very good.

We need to have a good beer outing. Two Brothers maybe? Somewhere in city like Revolution or Atlas?

I went to Revolution last weekend. Thumbs up. Really good food. I would suggest Two Brothers. I've never been.

The 2 Brothers Taphouse in Warrenville is a cool place. The food is good too.

I was going to say they have a sort of Three Floyds vibe. What with the small batches and the bottle art.

Yeah they do. I'm planning a trip to Wicker Park one day to see what they got. Their prices are a tick below what you see from 3F's

I don't know if they sell direct. You can go here though - right off Milwaukee and Lawrence (Jefferson Park) 2 blocks off the expressway.

Great selection of local beers.

They gonna bottle that?

Yes, in 22 oz bottles.

Just picked one up today.

Picked up Shogun from Half Acre this weekend. Definitely a nice similarity to Gumballhead and a fruitier version of Daisy Cutter. Comes in some sweet cans - give it a try for summer.

Permanent Funeral from FFF is absolutely delicious. The review that stated it is Zombie Dust's big brother is accurate. Can't believe it's considered a pale ale. The 10% ABV is well-masked.

Anybody try anything from 5 Rabbit? I had the 5 Vulture beer the other day. Was pretty tasty, it had Ancho Chiles or something which gave it a little spice...

Should be getting my shipment of Pliny the Elder any day now. Can't wait to try it!

Anyone ever been to Bigby's Pour House in Addison? Reviews on Yelp are great. Might head there tomorrow.

Bigby's is pretty damn cool. It;s got a smaller bar and a lot of smaller tables/sofas/etc. It's definitely more hipster than most bars you will go. The beer selection is typically very good. Don't be surprised if you get there and there is no where to sit. You may have to wait to find a spot.

And tomorrow is a Half Acre tap takeover. Probably not the best night to go if we don't want to wait an excessive amount of time for a spot. Thanks, HV.

Just get their earlier - normally when I get there around 9:30-10 I wait. If I get there 8:30 ish I normally find something.

The food is good too. They tend to have good flatbreads. You won't get a full meal but you will get some good finger food.

From this site. The owner will chat with you for a while. Dude is passionate about his beer. I'll let you know how my transaction goes once the beer arrives. It's a little pricey, but it's not something I will do very often. And I finally get to try Pliny. The deal is if you want two Pliny, you have to order four of something else (to make a six pack). If you want four Pliny, you have to order eight other beers (to make a 12-pack).

http://beverages4lessinc.com/

My order:

2 - Pliny the Elder
1 - Speakeasy Double Daddy Imperial IPA
1 - Hoptologist DIPA
1 - Hangar 24 DIPA
1 - Ballast Point Dorado DIPA

I already made my purchase before I realized BP now is distributed in Illinois. Is Sculpin worth the hefty price tag?

I would say no. Alesmith does a better IPA and for $3 less per bomber.

Had my first bottle of Double Bastard today. Loved it.

One of my favorite beers immediately.
