The hostess scolded us (softball team) for showing up with a group of ten and not calling ahead to make a reservation. This was a Thursday night, around 8:15. The place was maybe half full. You're located a mile from softball fields, and your name is COACH'S CORNER. Don't act like we're the first team to do this. Anyway, waitress was very slow, inattentive, and generally had a piss poor attitude. We asked for separate checks from the start (probably 5-6 checks since there were couples). Check arrives, and it's on one bill. We asked if she could split it up, and she said she could/would not. I could live with that. But no, I look at the check and what I see is one of the most idiotic things I've ever seen. Let's say I had a Stella, which they consider a premium beer. I looked for mine and I see a "draft - $3" then about 15-20 lines down the check "premium - $2" so she said to add those to arrive at my $5 beer. Hands down the dumbest method I've seen for restaurant invoicing.

I go to a place once in a while for trivia night that the check looks like they charge you for ice. I'll order a whisky or scotch on the rocks and the bill reads:

Crown Royal-4.00
--rocks-2.00

I asked the first time if I was being charged for ice and they said that it is essentially like a double shot and that is how they have to ring it up. Very stupid. Just charge me 6.00 and we'll move on.

Handzus back, Stalberg out for Game 1

...As expected, veteran center Michal Handzus returned to the ice Wednesday after missing two straight practices, jumping back on the Hawks' No. 2 line with Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp. But Stalberg, seemingly in the doghouse since last weekend, will not play in what was termed a "coach's decision."...

...A source told the Tribune that Stalberg questioned his lack of ice time on the power play with coaches. The winger averaged 11 seconds per game with the Hawks on the man advantage against the Wild in the first round. Stalberg played much of the regular season on the power play as a net-front presence.

"I had a conversation with him, so he knows how it stands," Quenneville said. "He knows what the situation is. We'll leave it at that."
