Last year my wife and I bought an entertainment center from someone on Craigslist. On a Thursaday night we went out to look at it put some money down and see what kind of truck we would need to move it. We chatted with the woman and her teenage son about their lovely home, etc. They both seemed pleasant but kind of morose as she went on euphemistically about moving on to a "new chapter" and "starting fresh." It was clear they were downsizing. We agreed on a price and pickup time, she said that her husband would be there to assist moving the unit to our truck.

Saturday, we showed up to pick up the unit. The husband was indeed there, as were the Mom, son and a younger daughter. A lot of other items were stacked or packed up in and aroung the living room, and there was a lot of third party communication between the adults ("Ask your mother where the allen wrenches are." "Tell him they are in the junk drawer.") As we were packing up and getting ready to leave, I took notice of the two cars in the driveway. One was a rather sporty Audi. The other was a Toyota Pathfinder with a stick figure family of a Mom, a son, a daughter, a cat, and scratch marks where a Dad used to be.
