Noticed this morning.

All I can think of is Seth Myers' "REALLY????" bit on SNL News Desk.

The first time he cut me off I did not see him - came up out of my blind spot and swerved in front of me. I admit the second time I did see him because I was enjoying him getting frustrated that the lane he switched to suddenly slowed to a crawl. He took to the middle of the road to then get in front of me again.

And just because something is loud and I hear it doesn't mean it is discernable to WHERE it is, especially in morning traffic. You can hear a siren but it takes time to register which direction it is coming from.

Obviously you ride and this topic bothers you. Let me ask this: Do you wear a helmet? Every time you are on your motorcycle? If the answer is YES to both of those then I apologize for lumping you into the group that most motorcycle enthusiasts fall into. If the answer is NO then it seems you really don't have a lot to be upset about as you don't really care about your own safety so why should others?

I'm not sure why this matters.. You can wear a helmet and still drive like an asshole. (not saying furious is an asshole)

True. But this campaign is asking other people to look out for you (motorcycles) - but if you don't look out for yourself by wearing a helmet why should other people?

There was an accident on the Ryan today that shut down three lanes. I saw two cars with fender benders and thought "WTF why arent they clearing it?"

50 yds down the road, there was a motorcycle that had crashed into the median

You have to be INSANE to ride one of those things.

Good luck to all who do

It's one thing if you live in the country. Riding a bike in crowded city/suburban areas is nuts. YARR!

On Saturday night, I saw a biker run over a drunk walker on Route 31.

Kinda a weird situation.

Maybe we need a "Start Seeing SUV's and stop being douchebags who think it's fun to mess with cars".

I'm enjoying the comments on how the riders where the victim of the SUV's road rage. I can't believe the SUV didn't go full on GTA on the bikes pulling along side. Now that I have a family that is as frightening of a video as i have seen in a while.

Is there a reason why virtually every biker in that video has to continue following the SUV? Why the mob mentality? Does it really take 60 bikers to handle an incident with one guy?

Usually, the answer would be no.

They aren't real bikers. They are riding crotch rockets. It should take more than 60 of them.

This is true. Just reinforces my hatred for motorcyclists.

Start seeing them. I'll start seeing you when you stop driving like an asshole. Deal?

Again, the PSA isn't speaking for the lunatic fringe. I think you know that. No different than judging all bicyclists because of how those Critical Mass-holes behave. Group rides bring out the worst in people, whether it's cars, motorcycles, bikes or snowmobiles.

"Crotch rockets"??? Really?

The preferred nomenclature is sport bikes.

I prefer the term "rice burners".

Crotch rocket is only acceptable when it's preceeded by "new-fangled" and uttered in a Hank Hill voice.

With everyone texting and driving, the majority of drivers are unsafe. Very rare do you see someone driving who's not dicking around on their phone. Very rare...

I was driving yesterday. I looked at my rear view mirror. I looked at my side mirror. I put on my turn signal and do a quick look back as I start to drift over a little. I then see at the last second that there is suddenly a motorcycle in the lane about a car length behind where I would be merging into. I literally did everything I could and I still didn't "see motorcycle" because it is a small and narrow vehicle and it probably accelerates or decelerates so fast. I don't move over and avoid any potential of an issue.

I guess my attempt to move over was enough to get this motorcyclist mad so he goes from behind me, to the other side of me, and then gives me a really long stare down going past me.

Yup. I guess it was all my fault. I guess I should have just assumed there was a motorcycle in my blind spot.

Stopped your car and got out to do a full inspection of the blind spots.

Turn your head and check the blind spot. Still, not sure if that is literally everything you could have done.

I did though. Did your bold text editing miss that part?

I'm driving on a busy NYC expressway. I can't be looking back 2 or 3 times. I was in my lane pretty much the whole time. I may have ended up driving on the line for a second before returning to my own lane.

This is the problem. This is what scares me about motorcyclists. I was doing everything I could to avoid an accident on all sides of me and you seemingly seem to be putting the blame on me just like Mr. Motorcycle did.

I'm just glad to know that a 5 second stare at me as he drove past is "safe".

He did say he checked behind him. The motorcyclist at that point, should have noticed a car with his signal on indicating the lane change and made himself visible to BRick.
