No one cares though. Most Bulls fans that watched him play knock or overlook him. I've had too many Scottie debates. At the peak of his game he was the best defender I've seen and one of the best all around players ever.

Yes, that is my question...

Someone riding their bike or keeping themselves in great shape does not equate to a continued 40" vertical or 4.3 40. In fact, I would argue that those days are already behind Lebron. So my question is not related to him keeping himself in peak "shape." It is related to how he would maintain his completely freakish athletic ability and if not (which I don't believe he will for much longer), how does he adjust his game to remain the best?

Kid, in my heart of hearts, I couldn't agree with you more. In fact, I would argue that in the last 3 championships, Pippen was at least as good as Jordan. And I'm not saying that to be agreeable. I've thought it for years. It hurts me to admit it, though, as MJ was the last true hero I had as a kid.

Honestly, I even realized it as a kid. I always thought Pip was more efficient and let the game come to him. If he didn't have it going, he could affect the game in more areas, like team defense and rebounding. He wasn't the pure scorer, but no one in history was or has been. Pip was fucking amazing, and he has never truly received enough kudos for it.

I agree that people inexplicably dismiss Scottie, but at the same time, his number is retired, the NBA acknowledged him as one of the 50 greatest players ever, he finally got his max contract in 1998, he's still got his awards and accolades, he's got the six rings, he's in the HOF, etc. If I were him, and given all what I've just said about his local and league-wide reputation, what's there to be insecure about?

This is his 10th year in the league and he continues to get better. His game has evolved and he's easily the most efficient player in the game. The game is easy to him now because of his knowledge. That and taking care of his body will keep father time away longer.

Yep, and he was pretty good in NBA Jam too.

I disagree to a certain extent, but I guess time will tell. He is certainly smarter than when he was 18, but I wouldn't say that Lebron is uniquely great due to his knowledge of the game. He is great because he is uniquely gifted physically. But we will see...

I've said for years that Pippen was the better all around player for most of that final 3 peat. He still couldn't score as well and wasn't going to take the big shot.

Look at the 1.8 thing. Obviously being THE MAN was a huge deal to him. He let that jealousy fester for 8 years with a two year tease of freedom

I love Pippen

But you guys are saying he was better than Michael Jordan when Jordan was winning MVPs and titles

Maybe its true but the perceived Scott disrespect might just be reacting to that grandiose statement

I think most Bulls fans know Scottie was an all time great who happened to be on the same team as someone who was better

Pippen didn't quite have enough without Jordan to get to the NBA Finals. Obviously Hue Hollins blew the call, but that's how close it was. The Pippen team that lost to the Knicks was good, but it wasn't winning a title without Jordan. I thought the 2nd 3-peat had some better players than the first 3-peat with Kukoc and Rodman adding a lot to the team.

Pippen was great and one of my favorites but he is absolutely bat shit crazy if he really thinks this is true.

I think Pippen would only say that to razz Jordan. Jordan is 50 years old and he's still beating all the Bobcats player one-on-one.

Everyone has told LeBron James that he is the greatest player on earth probably since he was 13 or 14 years old. The difference is that Jordan became a lottery pick at North Carolina, especially after hitting the winning shot. But Jordan did not have all the post moves early in his career. A lot of his shooting game he improved by practice. Jordan could also average a triple double if they were to put him at point guard.

LeBron is a different type of player because he handles the ball so much. The game has also changed too because Jordan wouldn't be taking the amount of threes that LeBron attempts. The thing about Jordan that separates him from all the other players, including LeBron, is that he wanted to win more than anyone he played against. His will to win carried his team through those difficult games. LeBron can carry his team at times for certain games or against certain opponents, but Jordan did it more frequently.

It's just plain dumb to think anyone would kick Jordan's ass.

I agree Scottie is obviously bitter towards MJ.

I'm fairly sure that LeBron's best will never be as good as MJ at his best. We'll see.

Farvio, you can't really say sentence one, and then turn around with sentence three a minute later.

How so? I don't think Jordan would kick LeBron's ass either. Neither would kick Kobe's ass. We aren't talking about insurmountable gaps in talent in any case.

What are you talking about? Nothing I said contradicts. I don't think LeBron will ever be as good as MJ was, but I don't think Jordan would kick his ass necessarily. And I think it's dumb to say anyone would kick Jordan's ass. I'm not sure what your problem is with that.

Pippen owes everything to Jordan. Without MJ Scottie is just another average hoops player. Top 50? Pippen isn't even top 100.

You even get this from people smarter than him when it comes to basketball.

Not usually. JORR is probably the only person I've ever met who's basketball thoughts I respect and who wouldnt put Pippen in their top 50 at least.

But Scorehead admitted he hates the NBA and doesnt watch it. So that was an obvious failed trolling attempt.

Yeah, he's a professional bag-carrier for the Reinsdorf Family now because his hot ass wife spent up all his bucks.

Fuck that Big-Nosed nincompoop!

He made a lot of BAD business decisions. One of his firsts was signing that long as contract. He had bench players making more than him near the end of the deal.

Scottie has issues if this psychological explanation of this MJ-LBJ stuff is to be believed. Again, this is a HOF, six-time NBA champion, with seven all NBA appearances, seven ASG appearances, and one of the 50 greatest players of all time. Clearly, he's one of the most accomplished players in recent memory, so if anything he should be tooting his own horn rather than fixating for whatever reason on Jordan.

Watch Lebron in the post. Watch it! He is no Michael Jeffrey Jordan. He is just not. The differences are not physical - they are mental and intuitive.

Given his athleticism, I'm underwhelmed.
