They're already outselling the WiiU.

its looking like most games will REQUIRE you to be online to play, even in single player mode.

I like it. I wish they had announced the price. I'm less enthused about it at the rumored $499 price tag. I guess I'll just wait for the massive price drop on the Wii U when this hits the market and then get one of these in a year.

Looks bad. Once again Sony will have the superior console with the superior exclusives.

What little I read about it, fuck it completely.

Another thing not listed is there's going to be a "fee" for playing/installing a used game.

It turns on by saying "Xbox On" though.

So do you, but nobody likes you.

Thank you for proving my point.

IMU, based on what you know, is this system better, worse or on par w/ the WiiU?

They can be, or you can buy charger packs. I have rechargeable AAs so it's never been an issue.

There is absolutely no reason to buy an XBox720 over a PC now with these rumored "features" being added. Just get one of those new Steam boxes when they come out and call it a day.

This is what I am thinking. These new features leave me cold.

When your launch introduces more limitations than features that's a bad thing.

Yeah it seems like everything is hindering what I utilize the XBox for which is some gaming and to stream Netflix. I don't want anything to do with Kinect or the fact that my Xbox is always on....just watching...waiting to send my conversations to Bill Gates. And hey Xbox ON has all of the functionality of a clapper. So that's pretty awesome I guess.

If you really look at the Xbox One though, it's simply a reflection of the current state of gaming. The "My PC is faster LOL!" crowd isn't really important to console developers any more. They want the guy who likes playing angry birds on his iPad to want to play his game on the Xbox. They want World Of Warcraft like games to be available for it. They want an app store. Younger kids aren't using consoles any more. They are playing games on tablets not really caring that the graphics aren't industry leading.

It's pretty interesting that two of the three big console makers seem to see a future where the hardcore gamer is only marginally important.

yup. even though there are still guys who will spend thousands on their gaming computers (my little bro), those people dont add up to a fraction of the profit of the penny and dime plant vs. zombie players.

sad really.. but is what it is.

Not really sad, it's just the demographics have changed and console are more capable of reaching a wider audience.

Microsoft has also invested over a billion dollars in new studios and new game development for the Xbox One, as well. That's a clue that they "get it" you can have all of your other stuff like streaming media, TV stuff, music, skype, apps etc etc etc but you need games be the draw. I'm hoping it works as I like competition.
