Whew!
Time for a Chicago pro sports team to come back from a 3-1 postseason deficit!

I refused to watch anything but the ice tracker until those last 2:09 and god damn was that more intense than it needed to be.

This series may be looked back on as the key series in another Hawks Cup Championship. Great win!!!

I was right about that fourth goal in case they scored late.

With the way they played in the 4th game I did not think a 7th was possible.

Quick question: Oduya couldn't clear the puck because there was no power play shouldn't that be negated when there's an empty net?

I mean that was a shot. If it went in it counts right?

What is the deal with Hossa staying in the box after Detroit scored? There are still a few rule quirks I haven't been educated on and that apparently is one.

The goal was scored at even strength. If that had cancelled the balance of Hossa's penalty, it would have put Chicago on the power play for the rest of Zetterberg's penalty. And that'd be just plain goofy!

My problem with that whole sequence was it was coming off of a Detroit timeout. Q did not appear to be talking to the team at all. The entire time all I could think of was, remind them not to ice the puck, this isn't a pk! Gotta communicate better, can't have breakdowns like that.

Empty nets don't negate icing, as the teams are still technically at even strength. It would have counted as a goal if it had gone in, but it didn't, so it was icing. This happens all the time.

Seeing how I'm one of the 90% of the fucking world that works, I unfortunately missed the game. Was able to browse the board though, thanks for the updates gays. I don't have the hatred for this Detroit team that I do for ones past but it sure would be nice to hang a 3-1 series lead collapse on them. Apologist you are hereby summoned to watch game 7. You appear to be good luck.

If it hits the post, it wouldn't have crossed the goal line. The sequence of events for icing is crossing the center line, crossing the goal line (outside the goal, natch), and being touched by an opposing skater. It can be cancelled if the linesman judges that an opposing skater could have played the puck ahead of the goal line but dogged it to draw the call. I would have made that call late when it looked like a Red Wing was just kinda letting it clear.

Not certain but if hit the post or side board first no icing

I'd be thrilled if they switched it up to international rules and skipped the touching up part.

Yea, a guy in Switzerland got paralyzed on an icing play earlier this year. A lot of bad injuries come from it.

So Michael Frolik is now the only player in NHL history to score 2 playoff penalty show goals. He had one in 20011 -VS- the Canucks & then the one tonight.
