Now that the Iguchi is gone, who is the next to go. Obviously we would want Contreras to go first, but I doubt the Schaumburg Flyers would take him at this point.

I think even if the Sox can't trade Contreras, they need to get him out of the rotation.

Maybe if they try putting him in the bullpen he can handle an inning or two here & there. But they can't keep starting him. Whether he's hurt or he's just lost it, you can't keep starting a guy who gives up as many runs as Contreras does.

As for who gets traded next -- I really don't know. It seems that most teams want pitching, so they'll probably be calling Kenny about Garland & Vazquez.

We'll give you a middle reliever for Garland. Howsabout Eyre?  Garland helped you get your WS and that was a purely philanthropic gesture on our part. Now you should, as gallant gentlemen, sportsmen, and fellow Chicagoans, give Garland back to the Cubs so we may get our WS.

It's still too hard to determine, though if you do something, you'd figure that Dye would be involved.

I have been saying that for weeks. When Jose starts, it is pretty much an automatic "L". If you cant find someone to take him (even if you have to pay for some of his salary), move him to the pen. Hey, you never know. Maybe if he only has to get 3 guys out he can still be effective. Also, that give you a chance to trot out Floyd, Gino Gonzalez, and whoever else they have in the farm system. With Dye's resugence, I would not be suprised to see them keep him and try to resign him at a discount. If they could get him for cheap, he may not be a bad option. If you can trade Garland for a major league shortstop or centerfieder AND some pitching, do it. If not, hold on to him. I will take my chances next year with Buerhle, Garland, and Javy. That still stacks up with most teams in the AL other than Boston and the Tigers. Although this team is out of it, I do not think they are really that far from being in contention. You have three solid starting pitchers and a solid closer. Other than that, it looks pretty crappy. But, the White Sox will not go into next year as the Royals or Devil Rays. Texas is always looking for pitching, anyone think they would do a Garland for Michael YOung deal?

If they trade Garland or Vazquez, it will be for younger players who can step in on the MLB team to fill holes, for example, a SS. With their payroll pretty locked in around 100 million, I don't think they would take a huge deal's like Michael Young back. In fact, Young just signed an extension about a year ago, and he's pretty much the leader of that team.

Nope, wasn't me. I haven't called Murph's show in years. Usually too busy, not a judgement of his show.

dye or contreras. i do not want to see them trade garland or vazquez. if they get some other pieces of the puzzle together this off season, a rotation that is buerhle, garland, vazquez, danks could easily compete for the central title. lets face, for the most part outside of contreras, the starting pitching has been really good. its certainly not the reason they have the record that they do
