While I am not a Larry fan, I also dont think he is a professional in terms of broadcast ability. I dont think he speaks well, he is far from being cool and he looks like someone took the grown up Erkel and squeezed him down 6 inches like he was a playdough doll.

All that said, Spiegs has some pretty ugly selfish moments, that don't appeal to many. His concern over the "Show Pot" was alarming to even those in the Studio...IMO...A portion of the concept was to wager "together" for the show...as a 'team" he didnt seem to get that and wanted to take out his share (Which he never put any money in) and he wanted to go play poker with a portion, which he did and lost.

I base what I think Mac thought about this on my opinion only, I never spoke to him about it, but I think it took Spiegs down a notch in Mac's view.

Plenty other reasons for people not to like Spiegs, but the ratings once again seem to argue with the I dont like "Mully, Hanley, Spiegs" Club.

If they could actually break down the ratings on a day to day basis I would think Mac + anyone is a winner but when its Candyman + anyone the ratings take a huge dive.

All signs point to Spiegs not being renewed by the Score. Mac has stopped defending him & there have been a few moments on the show where Matt has made comments about someone else being brought in. So the real question is, if Meat is cut loose, does Mitch just replace him or does he do what should be done & do a complete re-org of the Score lineup? I'm afraid that Mitch will pair Berns with Larry which would only lead to more bobble head radio as is the case with Boers. Berns doesn't need another co-host who agrees with everything he says. He needs a co-host like Rosey or Rozner who aren't afraid to disagree with Dan. I still think Boers has a second life left in him if he was paired with Mac again & add Finfer as a threesome.

bernstein & mac would be the best radio show in town, bar none. probably won't happen though...

Laurence does a solid job and can be counted on to fill in whenever needed. Nerd? Probably. But he's not a douche to his co-workers and doesn't miss time due to stage "dancing"....

Larry is just bad at radio hosting. He thinks he is great and WSCR has created this fantasy. He is a no talent wanna be that must have some dirt or something on someone. This hour of MY SHOW is brought to you My Show. God almighty he sucks. Name droppin turd droppin bad radio host. Would make a great comic book host on the who cares channel.

These guys have a very similar inferiority complex. Larry is much more of a prick though. Spiegs can be a prick, but is actually a good guy 84.6% of the time, while Larry is around the 57% area.

Both will kick that number up into the high 90%'s if they think you might be useful to them at some point. They will both use the WSCR laugh to make you feel like you are a funny guy.

Both have a sense of entitlement as if they went through this hazing period , now giving them the right to make sure others are beneath them. Being that Larry has his own show, he makes this much more evident.

I can say that I have spoken to 2 people "under" both of them and those under Spiegs, who while might have taken shots did say he was a good guy basically and his heart is in the right place, which I kind of already knew, he just has some bad moments.

Larry on the other hand is pretty much disliked by his staff and others. Not hated, but just disliked as you may dislike a boss, but go for a drink with him every once in a while because you know he can help you get a better job one day.

Larry is just uncool, yet thinks he is really cool, which is about the worst combo you can have.
