my only gut feeling is if the Heat come out of the gate with a big run, i think it's going to be alot harder for the Pacers to come back from tonight
if they're down but keep it to under 10 or so at the half & 3rd quarter i think they pull it off

Even though it's Game 7 the approach is still the same. The Pacers need to win the rebounding battle, hold Miami under 100 points and 50 percent from the field, the Pacers also need to shoot close to 50 percent, keep their turnovers under 12 if possible, get Miami in foul trouble if possible and stay out of foul trouble, especially Hibbert, West and George.

You have to know that the league wants Miami to win. So I imagine they may call "breathe on LeBron" fouls. The Pacers will have to overcome that as well. If the Pacers want this they just have to go play big boy ball and force LeBron to try to win the game by himself and make it difficult on him. If the Pacers come to play LeBron will probably not have enough to beat them himself. The no. 1 thing is that the Pacers cannot let the Heat get a lead or momentum. They have guys that can make every shot when the crowd is into the game.

Most people probably feel this way. I wouldn't discount the confidence Indiana has or the pressure Miami will be playing with. Throw in the internal problems and I'm picking the Pacers by 12.

I don't know about that. Both teams have blown each other out once, but only the Heat have been able to accomplish that on the road. Given that they've got home court tonight, even if they lost I don't think it will reach double digits. There is pressure on Miami for sure, but the Pacers have their own pressure to face. They weren't favorites at any point this year to go all the way, and here they are one win away from the Finals with a 23 year old leading the way. They've got to be nervous.

This year was championship or bust for Miami. It's still a great season even if Indiana loses. In a sense they can play loose because they already beat expectations. I just feel that the Pacers will be up by 6 or so and free throws will push the final margin to 12.

I agree with DB that LeBron will have one of the finest games of his career tonight. Heat win by 6.

Lebron will have a triple double tonight, with at least 40 points.

If that happens then the Pacers would have choked. No way LBJ scoring 40 and facilitating 20-30 more points is in the game plan. Maybe 40, but not the ten dimes. If that happens then this game is a blow out in the third quarter.

I don't think the Pacers choked in that case. Letting an all time great player have an all time great game may not be in the game plan, but their may not be a damn thing they can do about it.

Sure, I'd give you that if this were a regular season game, but the Pacers have clearly figured something out against the Heat during the past six games. So I meant choked within the context of failing to maintain their defensive focus/strategy against the big three that's worked for at least four out of the six games (they're 3-1 in those games).

Yeah but the same thing could be said of the Celtics last year. It's too small a sample size and LeBron is too great a player to EXPECT Indiana to contain him again.

I'll tip my hat to him. They have to keep him under 30. The Heat are like 28-1 when he scores 30. Only loss was Game2.

Game 6 was a surprise. We all now know there is a killer in him. It just doesn't always come out.

He also had the same type of game in I believe game 5 against Indy last year. I think we are seeing it again tonight. At least I hope so.

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess what troubles me about a triple double is LBJ getting others involved. I haven't watched the Pacers D so closely this series, but I assume they're fine with Wade and Bosh shooting abysmally while LBJ scores 30+. That formula, if it is indeed a formula, seems to have worked. If LBJ gets his AND gets others involved, then it's more than just LBJ having a game we expect him to have, it's the Pacers failing to stick to the formula that forces LBJ into sustained one on one action.

That was Wade. Flash got tired of being Robin. I think LeBron needs a sidekick to flourish. He came to Miami for that reason. Without a big game from Wade or Bosh it will be over midway through the 4th IMO. Stevenson and Hibbert will prevent that.

Hill and Stevenson need to score at least 25 combined. If they do that it won't matter what Miami does. Obviously they need to have the rebounding edge by at least 10. They have a 10.2 edge so far in this series. Can't let any role players have "career" games either. I'm jacked by this game.

It was game 4 I was thinking of. 40-18-9.

If those guys do that they will probably win for sure. The bottom line is the Pacers need to come out desperate and just take the game from the opening tip.

I see they went to Wade a couple times early to establish him. I think that's the wrong move. Bosh has more left in the tank. He can also draw the Pacers' bigs into foul trouble.

Dumb. Force feeding Bosh and Wade will not suddenly make them effective.

I think an aggressive Wade would do that much more efficiently. That's not really Bosh's game.

LeBron needs to start taking over before Indy gets too comfortable.

Well, I meant as some sort of pre-arranged game plan. I agree that force feeding at random probably won't work.

West can't get dumb fouls like that. You should never get forced to leave your feet by Udonis Haslem.
