You have taken a lot of abuse for your poor choices over the last few decades. Today, you deserve the praise. Thank you for telling Will Smith that we are tired of him pushing his wife and kids on us.

Do I have to reiterate what a three way with two dudes is?...and neither Will nor Jada would be hiding that.

The movie did make $27 million, but with a budget of $130 million, that has to be a disappointment.

This is the same public that has allowed Fast and the Furious 6 to gross $170 million. I have never watched a minute of any of the six movies.

I figured that The Hangover 3 would have grossed more than $88 million at this point.

Not exactly what I meant, Dolph. I mean I'd gladly have sex with his wife. He can watch from another room via CCTV...

It's amazing how in some quarters mere ambivalence toward Will Smith is inconceivable to most.

Especially when you double down and publicly find his annoying, bony little wife irritating to the point of un-attractiveness.

In deference to their ages, I'll refrain from commenting on the Smith kids.

This shoutout is seconded!

I liked Will all the way back to my youth with "Parents Just Don't Understand". He was fun and funny. I think Scientology made him the unlikable and introspective Will Smith.

I've hated his wife forever. Shitty actress who has always tried to pretend she was on a red carpet because of her own abilities. I think the kids get it from her and Will is just being a good dad trying to put them in a position to succeed.

I wished we showed similar judgement back when Micheal Bay made those atrocious Transformers movies (I only saw the first one, and that was on DVD). I still have hope for W. Smith, but I'm done with Bay. They actually collaborated on Bad Boys II, which I also found to be horrible.

That movie was over the fuckin' top multiplied by 5 million. I enjoyed this first one but the second film was pretty bad....I mean, they INVADED CUBA BY THEMSELVES.....and won.

the biggest problem i have with summer blockbuster movies is how bloated they are. "pirates" series and "transformers" are ridiculous. almost every movie that comes out in the summer you can guarantee will be about 150 minutes long, or close to it.

that's why i skipped the other "transformers" movies.

Yup, totally agree. The script must have been five pages long since everything else was either bullets, bombs, or the RPG or whatever they had at the end. I think the most repeated line of dialogue was "get down!"

You know, after watching Dark Knight Rises I remember saying that I wish this wasn't a summer blockbuster, because then it would have been so much better. I felt what ruined Rises for me were the obligatory, summer blockbuster-ish type stunts and story lines, like the hideous Bat plane or whatever it was, and the cliched "ticking time bomb" scenario. Toning down the use of fancy gadgets and getting rid of the ticking bomb thing would have allowed Nolan to focus on the themes and metaphors of the saga. But when you add all this blockbuster-obligatory noise and pageantry, you squish the story lines and overarching themes to the point of them being unrecognizable.

I like movies, but I just can't pay $10 to $15 to a theater to waste 2 hours of my day. I still don't understand why people go to movies when the viewing experience at home is so much superior.

More convenient certainly. But for a truly great flick I still will go to the big screen. Once maybe every other year.

Well, the concession prices are ridiculous. When I went to movies regularly I would never buy any concessions at all. At least at home you can make your own popcorn, you can turn the movie off and come back to it later if you need to and for the people who spent the big money they can watch their stuff in HD.

you'll also be subjecting to yourself to exponentially more annoying audiences (as Brick has pointed out in a past thread).

but movies like "avatar" have to be seen in the theatre still. that movie loses just about everything that made it a great experience by seeing it on regular TV.

He really could have built a great movie around catwoman's line about how he could take so much and leave so little for the rest. It would have been the right movie at the right time to become legendary.

Right. There is potential for something bigger than the average, loud and extravagant blockbuster, but it's the latter that draws crowds to the theaters. On a side note, I also wasn't a fan of the fight scenes in all three movies. Maybe it's the suit, but Batman looks comically slow when fighting, and there are a couple moves in the Dark Knight Joker invasion scene that show the thugs standing still in mid-fight waiting for Batman to knock them down. I prefer the scripted fights you see in something like the Bourne trilogy.

Alfred is Bruce's real father.

Mrs Wayne cheated. That's why Alfred is so worried about his "master"
