Currently 5 behind Cleveland and 6 behind Detroit....oh, and 1 1/2 behind Minnesota. But 1/2 game ahead of Kansas City!!!

So we're right where we need to be.

It's all good.

I have to admire the optimism.

You know, we never fully vetted the whole Marrying In The Desert On A Horse With No Name episode. Was there something significant about horses or horseback riding to your relationship that caused you to choose that theme?

Well that's interesting. It's long overdue to get Alexei out of the 2nd spot but don't like Rios hitting 4th. Oh well he had to do something. Hopefully this lineup can scratch out a few against King tonight.

Great. CB Buckner is behind the plate. King might strike out 25 tonight.

Beckham batting 2nd...He was doing very well before the White Sox midseason acquisition of Kevin Youkilis last year. Has a single, but got caught in a rundown in the top 1st tonight...

Not really. We both began riding horses when we were young and the idea of getting married at sunset out in Red Rock Canyon while out on a horseback ride sounded a lot better than having Elvis perform the ceremony in a Cadillac. The scenery was spectacular out in the canyon, but looking at the Vegas strip from out in the desert was pretty spectacular too.

WARNING! WARNING!

Jake Peavy is injured, forced to leave the Mariners' game in the bottom 3rd. Not a good sign seeing trainer Herm Schneider leave the field with Peavy.

Well that's a bunch of bullshit. They can't give him a base he never got to and you can't say it's a ground rule double because the ball never left the fieed or was interferred with. These dumb fucking umps have to get their shit together.

Once an umpire signals a home run, there it's effectively a dead ball situation. It was the right interpretation.

It's not just the umps. It's MLB "Commissioner" Allan H. "Bud" Selig who also needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Instant replay has to be expanded! What the hell is that bum waiting for?

They originally ruled Mariners' rookie 2B Nick Franklin homered, but the ball was still in play. The umps took away a 2 run homer, and ruled a ground rule double for Franklin, but RV wasn't happy because he thought Franklin was thrown out at second base. The umps ruled the play dead.

But it wasn't a ground rule double. The ball never left the field or was interrferred with. If the dumbass umps were going to award him a base they should have given him first because that's the base he reached safely.

Detroit beat the Rays today 10-1, so unless the Sox stage a comeback tonight, the Tigers will extend their lead to 7 games... :(
With Iwakuma going tomorrow for Seattle vs Axelrod another sweep is a real possibility...

Beckham not really helping the offense there. But they have 4 runs in a game and thats an offensive explosion for them. Unfortunately, Seattle got to Peavy and Co. for 6.

Peavy has allowed 12 runs in the last 6 1/3 innings he has pitched...

I said it was stupid to sign him to a new deal and now it may be impossible to trade him, depending on how long he might be out. Rick Hahn has made horrible moves since taking over as GM. This one, extending Sale years before he had to also a risky move for a guy that screams injury risk.....keeping the core intact, when it wasn't good enough a year ago and Detroit added Hunter and had Martinez coming back. So they were just gonna be better. Now he's got a mess on his hands.

Something to do with his left side. Could just be a strain, could be ribs, who knows. I'm sure he'll undergo an MRI and testing and we will know more before the weekend. Could just be 1 start missed or a 15day DL stint, could be done for the year. Who knows except for Steve.

There was word initially that it was a lat strain, but that was quickly changed as I think they didn't want people making a connection between the lat surgery he had and this injury. Now they are saying a rib cage injury. After giving up 12 runs in the past 6 1/3 innings, you have to wonder if the injury just happened, or if it's been something he's tried to pitch through and got worse? Either way, I think a trip to the DL is in his immediate future.
