Well, lets say they decide to rebuild and trade Alexi Ramirez and Alex Rios as well as Jesse Crain for prospects, trade Konerko to someone as strictly a salary dump (getting a low level prospect with no expectation of ever reaching the majors). As much as they have lost 8 straight, the team could get weaker still. But doing all those things would make sense. They need to upgrade their minor league system and build with youth. They don't have a prayer of contending and don't have the prospects anymore to make trades for established players, unless it's for players that teams want to be rid of because they have big contracts and are under-performing.

With young players like Soler, Baez and Almora as well as the 2nd overall pick tomorrow in the draft, the Cubs future is bright. Rizzo is turning into a star already. Samardzjia and Wood are solid starters as well. It will all come into place in 2-3 years and then there will be sustained success for the Chicago National League ballclub.

The Cubs future is a crapshoot and you know it. Back to back 100 loss seasons in the works. There's always next year!

Thankfully there's still a few weeks left until the Hawks hoist the Cup.

Still on target.

This season matters only in terms of the development of their young players and the trades they make at/near the deadline as well as the draft they will hold tomorrow. It's going to be 2-3 years and I'm more than okay with that. They are doing this the right way and once the young stars make it, they can fill in where needed with free agents, as they will have gotten rid of all the high salary guys except Edwin Jackson....their one truely awful move to date. It's not a crapshoot, it's a plan thats being carried out properly. But I love how you try to draw the Cubs into every discussion about the Sox. One has nothing to do with the other, unless they are playing one another. The Sox had an awful plan drawn up by Rick Hahn, who will need to drastically alter that plan very soon.

There is only one man in the Sox organization that draws up any plans. And that is not Rick Hahn. Tr

Then Hahn shouldn't have taken the job as GM. I think you are wrong though. I think Kenny, Jerry and the scouting director all have imput into the decision making. But ultimately it's Hahn's decision when a move (such as signing Peavy to a new contract or signing sale to an extension) is made. So far, I can't say I agree with a single move Hahn has made.

I say go for the record 14 losses in a row! Previous was 13 in 1924.

BTW, is there any way to expell ES from a Sox thread?

If they keep losing (14 in a row would be amazing, but hey, they are at 8 now) you know I'll be around for that!!

Hawks call of that last half inning must of been a thing.

So after 14 innings of offensive futility for both of these powerhouses... The Sox throw a crooked #5 spot up in the top of the 14th... and look at this shit. Serves up a Grand Slam to Seager to tie it back up.
Why does Reed blow so bad in non-save situations?!

Ditto for #15 Gordon Beckham, Atlanta, GA. 4 for 7, a double, 2 stolen bases & the winning run scored.

What exactly is Hawk supposed to say? He was pissed. Steve Stone said, "this is pretty much unbelievable." It was. You saw the score at the top of the screen, and the guy running around the bases. What needs to be said?

And I hope you do realize Conns that by just posting a link with nothing else, you are doing the EXACT same thing Hawk did in the 14th inning. Bravo!
