So they've introduced a new grade policy. The minimum grade a student can receive is a 50%. From what a teacher was telling me, this includes students who do not submit the assignments.
The pussification of the United States continues.

This is really preparing them for life in the fast in lane.

I would also love to see their guidelines for accepting late work, I'm sure it's as loose as a goose.

I also wouldn't be shocked if the had the "National Expert in Grading" hired for big bucks as a consultant. Many acronyms were probably also used.

Educational outcomes will also probably get worse and students will get dumber. But the grading scale will say that they aren't. Mission accomplish, I guess.

I know of districts that give students 60% instead of Zeroes if they do not turn in work. Have to get the students out of the building.

Yep. It's a really way to prepare them for a competitive global marketplace.

Creating an atmosphere of "Don't worry, you aren't allowed to fail." isn't the way to go. But, when %'s, and numbers and such are important the school boards will do what they must to keep the sausage factory humming.

It is also great for preventing pregnancy after a hot night of banging.
