We decided to go at the last minute. Broke about even not counting the expensive beers and food. Big win was picking forty tales to win. It's pretty amazing that Arlington Park is actually better than Belmont Park. It was still fun though.

We may drive up to Saratoga later in the year. I was told that is nicer.

It is Wrigley Field-ish. Saratoga Springs in August is my absolute favorite place on earth, but in terms of pure creature comforts Arlington is a nicer facility. Belmont from my understanding is pretty dumpy, but I've never been.

I'll be in Saratoga from 8/17 to 8/25 if you are in town any of those days.

Ironically, I'll probably be in the Chicago area around that time.

I agree that there are no all-time horses in this group, Walt. But I think calling Orb a "piece of shit" is overstating it.

In a normal year of 3 year olds, Orb is middle of the pack in those races. This might have been the weakest set of three year olds since 1999 when Charismatic won two legs of the triple crown.

No doubt this is a soft bunch.

I guess outside of the smell of melting rubber from the Polytrack, Arlington is "nicer" than Belmont. But Belmont is a real racetrack where people bet. Arlington is a place where people take kids to pet goats.

 This past Sunday (Bears day -- lots of families) there was never any waiting for the betting machines. On Friday afternoons they are sometimes two or three deep.
