He has prospects he says are ready, his team is out of it and he has veterans laying around phoning it in?

Why? Both are on one-year deals for $1M and $750K respectively, both are injury prone, and both are 4th/5th outfielders on a good team. If you think they're getting more than a resin bag for either of them, you've lost your marbles. If Kenny can get anything for these two, who will in all likelihood be gone for nothing in return at the end of the season, it will be a plus.

Pods is still arbitration eligible next year, so he might have a little value. If healthy he could start for many teams in the league.

Does anybody know Erstad's status? Is he only signed through this year?

I thought Pods signed a one year deal this year. Nobody wanted him. There's no arbitration for him. He's a free agent. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Erstad just signed a one year deal.

He still does not have the 6 years of service necessary to be a free agent. He signed a one year deal to avoid arbitration last year.
