My guess would be that if you are under the age of 45, most of those names on that roster are complete unknowns. However, I'd confidently put that team up against the Mavericks, Rockets and....the Spurs.

DJ, Sikma, Gus Williams, Downtown Freddy Brown, Lonnie Shelton & an old Paul Silas were all solid contributors/stars of a back to back Finals team from the Western Conference when a lot of scores were 120-115.

(& they could actually play defense, a little)

What do you mean by stumbled? They won in 6 as per usual

I'm talking about the way they won those 6 games. That was the Bulls championship team that was most heavily reliant on Jordan of all six. Jordan's supporting cast let him down in that series. The miserable performance in two of the three games in Chicago, combined with that monumental fourth quarter collapse in Game 6 tells me that those Bulls as constructed were running on fumes. 12 points in the fourth quarter - with 9 scored by Jordan. They were, as I said, limping to the finish line and I doubt they would have won Game 7 in Phoenix had Paxson not made that shot.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree. You may be right about the Bulls in 1993, but you missed the inclusion of Kukoc in 1994. MJ and Pip were at the top of their games, and you still had Grant going. Add the versatile Kukoc as an x-factor and I think the Bulls beat Houston.

I think the Bulls would've just gotten bored at some point and lost to someone.

Maybe. But they had their hands full with the Rockets all through the first run. IIRC, the Rockets & Warriors were the two teams those 90-93 Bulls couldn't handle. The Warriors, because Jordan never played well there & the Rockets, because their point guards & Dream annihilated the Bulls in matchups.

Perhaps. It's a great debate and we'll never know. I didn't watch the Bulls that much during those years, but wouldn't the Bulls stick Pippen on whatever Houston PG was giving them trouble if they met in the Finals? Hakeem gave everyone problems, but Ewing was no bum at the time either, and the Bulls knocked him out of the playoffs plenty of times.

Exactly. That about sums up my thoughts on this. The Bulls could have hung with the Rockets that year in the finals without Jordan. Put Jordan with them and no way the Rockets win. Bulls would have won in 5 or 6 games. The PG matchup would have went to the Rockets as well. I forgot how deep they were there, but C and PG would not be enough to overcome Jordan and Pippen. If the 92 Blazers and the 93 Suns couldn't do it, the 94 Rockets weren't.

I don't think the regular season matchups would really matter. The Bulls in those years always had trouble with the Rockets, but you put Jordan and Phil in the finals against them and you can throw that out the window IMO

Would all lose handily to either of these teams, IMO.

I think the Suns team was better. Even without Ceballas

I loved that Suns team...their demise pretty much coincided with the decline in my NBA love...

...clearly they lost that series because they didn't have Tom Chambers on the court enough.

Tom Chambers was like 100 years old when the Bulls played the Suns.

As a kid I was always afraid of the Rockets. The Bulls struggled against them more than any other team during the Jordan Dynasty.

Washington Bullets

A couple Hall of Famers. I think they were better than both Seattle and the Blazers.

Walt,

there's at least 10 maybe 15 people around here who put Olajuwon in their Top 10 all time, let alone Top 25.

I'll compile a list Lebron , Magic, MJ, Bird, Oscar...I don't even think he's a top 5 center  Ewing ,Russell, Kareem.Shaq,Wilt...bring it

There's no way Stockton ranks ahead of Olajuwon. Stockton is an all time great complimentary player, but he's got nothing on a franchise center like Olajuwon.

I'd absolutely favor this Heat team over the 2006 one. That is assuming the games were 5-on-5. If 5-on-8, as the 2006 finals were, that Heat team is probably the greatest of all time.

All kidding aside, I don't think the 2013 Heat team would qualify as one of the worst ever. Not with LBJ at the peak of his abilities, above-average secondary stars, and decent tertiary players like Allen, Battier, and Chalmers.

Walt's an idiot. I think Hakeem is underrated historically, but I wouldn't say he gets no respect.
