Actually had a great experience. I wasn't stupid enough to try and drag my ass to Grant Park, but I hung out on Washington, just west of Ogilvie, and made it back to Union Station for a beer before the parade was over. Caught the first train back towards Wisconsin, and now I'm sitting on my couch. Really was a fun time.

This year sucked as far as the parade goes compared to 2010. They were driving way too fast. I couldn't believe how quick they were going. They did a much better job in 2010 pandering to the fans. Luckily I didn't care this year as I live down here. Had coffee at McDonald's and literally took off to Washington and state five minutes before they came. 60 seconds later it was over. Looks like they drove much slower once they got on Michigan. Again, I had little invested today but felt somewhat bad for the families that came from the burbs to wait 4 hours for thoses buses to sprint by. Was a very lame moment created by the Hawks who usually don't fall short on fan experiences. Worked out great for me though. Saw what I needed to see, walked back up north to Ditka's, watched the rally and drank some Bloody Mikes. Then walked a block home and napped.

If I came to the city specifically for that, I would be pissed. Since it was a little break from work it was cool. I got my pics and saw the cup. I'm happy.
