Yea in 15 minutes of hindsight, I'd say it was a great move by Stevens. He'll get really rich and will be sought after by colleges when he decides to go back.

Bad move by Boston, though.

Is it just me or does six years for a rookie HC with zero NBA experience seem a tad overconfident for the Celtics? Perhaps these were Stevens' terms but if this doesn't go well the Celtics are eventually going to be on the hook for two coaches, unless of course there are team options at the end of the contract.

I don't think the Celtics really care about that. Their ownership has money and doesn't mind spending it. If they thought he was the best candidate available, the deal definitely makes sense.
