NBA does test. Hedo Turkalou was suspended this season for them. The steroids must have made his game worse though, because he was god awful this past season.

Possible, but unlikely. I think its more likely he was holding out so that he could make sure he is completely healthy to ask for a trade to get out to LA to follow up Kobe.
