and soccer is INFINITELY more exciting than watching NASCAR. maybe it's just cuz this is gonna be my 2nd season of watching/following the EPL and i've got a horse in the race in Arsenal, but like, goddamn.... once you get into it the ~45 min runs without commercials and stuff is nice. in that way it's the anti-NASCAR.

plus, once you start to get into the ebb-n-flow of the game, shit, it works for what it is. plus the UK/euro press ratchets up the drama so much more than american sports. this transfer period is loony.

Sadface indeed. There is a 9 player breakaway from the rest of the field, with Free Ajent… leading the pack of the rest of us from 10th on back. With four of the top five finishers in the bottom half of the standings and nobody picking the winner this week, the Rules Cabal wants to stop hearing about how hard this contest is. Chas is currently in the last automatic transfer spot, but has 8 players within 40 points of him.

The LCQ tournament will start with Week 23 at Michigan. Somehow there are almost as many dealbreakers on the bottom half of the standings as the top. How did that happen? That’s right, Hawg Ass sucking at life, or at least making picks…

The following memo has been released from the Nascar Rules Cabal PR Office.

LCQ for a thirteenth playoff spot announced. That's Last Chance Qualifier for those that don't know. There will be a 16 seed head to head tournament for a 13th playoff spot the last four weeks of the regular season. There are 14 players on the outside looking in of the playoffs. There have been many sadfaces and hurt feelings over the first half of the Nascar calendar. "That asswipe stole my Top 5 finish", "Dammit, why do they still let Juan Montoya on the track??", or "How they only got one paved road in Arkansas, but Mark Martin gets at least 30 points every week he races!?!?" These cries and gnashing of teeth have been heard for ages. SO we will have a single elimination bracket style tournament to get one more player in the, errr, playoffs. The 13th and 14th positions will be the Top and 2nd seeds and get a bye the first week. Confused? Good!

"But Rules Cabal, what if I move up or down in the standings in the last four weeks, how will that affect my position?" Great question! We are going with Standard Staffordshire Relagation Ruleset on this deal. In English, seeding is only changed for those coming and going from the Top 12. There will be lots of swindlin' and swerve-in the last four weeks, but in the end, 13 will advance to the playoffs. Feel free to ask any questions and file complaints and grievances up front.

Penalties from illegal roof flap violators from Daytona Coke Zero 400:

10 points will be taken from the seven players that were in the Top 12. To be more unfair only 5 points will be deducted from the seven that were below 12th in the standings after the Daytona race.

What those crews did was a serious violation of safety. I get the lead filled water bottles in the car during inspection, and other hijinx. But what if one or all of those shaved down spacers on a car broke during a big crash on the backstretch and you have cars going up in the air looking like Olympic gymnasts?

The Rules Cabal understands that those cars in violation never made the track. Even for Nascar, this is a jaw dropper that no penalties were given. Part of this story is not being told to the public.
