I heard Mike creaming his jeans this morning about the White Sox being "back in it" after sweeping the Tigers. Now they're ONLY 9 1/2 games out of the Wild Card race!!!!

Mike, I'm a hard core Sox fan too. This season HAS been tough to weather. But please...don't talk about how only 25% of White Sox fans are intelligent (I assume you're including yourself in that number) and then say that the Sox are "back in it" at this point because they've trimmed their defecit in the Wild Card race to single digits.

To take 1st place in the AL Wild Card, the Sox must leapfrog (from 1st place on down...)

Detroit
Seattle
New York
Minnesota
Toronto
Oakland
Baltimore

The Sox have 51 games left to play. Unless the players of each of the aforementioned teams dies in a plane crash or is infected by the Bubonic Plague and can't finish off the season, the Sox have no...friggin...chance. Stop hyping this out of proportion...PLEASE.

This meat ball Sox fan said he's one of the smart ones. He puts himself in that 25 percent?

It's reversed you idiot. The 25% that you think are smart are the meat balls like you. You can't figure out the Iguchi trade you dumb shit.

My rule has been that I'm not going to get excited until we are closer to the first place team in our division than we are to the royals.

My rule is I don't get excited until the hot girls start coming back to the Cell. They aren't around any more. Once they come back it means we have a shot.

Im beginning to think its only newsworthy if Mike North says something thats NOT retarded. The Sox would have to go something like 38-13 to leapfrog all of the aforementioned teams to get into the wild card. This pretty much wont happen, but its nice to see the Sox sweep the Tigers, and hopefully they can show something the last couple months of the season to give us hope for next year. I think they are going to be right back in it competing for the division next year, but this year Im with Mac, Go Brewers!

That's the thing...he could have been saying everything sarcastically. But with Mike, it's so hard to tell. I've listened to enough of him to get a read on when he sounds serious and when he sounds sarcastic.

This, to me, sounded like Serious Mike. Maybe it was Sarcastic Mike. Maybe it's all just crap. Maybe we need Mike to abandon baseball altogether and tell us how much Kyle Orton is like Drew Brees because they both went to Purdue.

It's sarcastic if the Sox don't make this great come back. If they do it will be "Remember on August 5th when I said da Sox would come back Fred? Remember dat Fred? I was da only one."

Its funny how Mike was all overth sox's butts and then goes on Vacation and speaks with Uncle Jerry, now he is leading the march to make everyone think they are still in it. Jerry must have really slapped Mikes ass hard.

KS, you are the James Carville of chicago sports radio. Do not conceed an inch to the opposition. I like it. If only we could find you a Marilee Maitlen you may be able to make some money from your passion.

KS, I'm no hall of famer. I'm really nothing...like I said earlier. But I thought the purpose of this board was to voice opinions and thoughts about Chicago sports-talk radio. How many other threads have been started here by people telling all of us what they think of the MNMS? How many of those have you agreed with? My background shouldn't matter in this case...but I guess to you it does. I'm just a listener with opinions...like everyone else here.

You have opinions, and I have no reason not to respect them. I may not agree with them, but I respect them. It is too much to ask for the same respect that I'll give you in this forum?

Can I nominate this for "Understatement of the Year"?

Nope...hung up the cans back in February. Something tells me you may not have enjoyed the show too much.

I really don't want to be a "hater" either. There's a lot I like about the Score. I'm on board with a lot of people here that Brian Paruch is a good addition to the roster. I enjoy B&B's dry, witty humor. I know what kinds of weirdos can call into a radio station and I think B&B do a great job exploiting some of that weirdness and the way people take some of this stuff way too seriously. I'm welcoming back Doug Buffone and Hub Arkush and am looking forward to hearing Bears talk on the station again. And, unlike some, I actually enjoyed listening to Fred & Murph before the MNMS hit the air. Hell, I enjoyed "The Wise Guys" too! I thought that North & Buffone worked well together.

I will maintain that everyone has a right to "hate" and "love" as they see fit. While I may or may not agree with some of the sentiments on this board, I think it's a great forum for discussion, debate, etc. Obviously, we're all passionate about the two sports-talkers in town and I'm grateful that a place like this exists so we can share ideas.

I guess I'll finish with this thought. If my opinions aren't welcome on the board, I'll have no issue not posting here anymore.

Thanks, KS. You're a good mang. :D I've seen message boards where people constantly flame and slam things for no good reason. The boards are there for discussion and they turn into all out shit-fests. I don't want to make myself into one of those and I apologize if my post came across as that type of thing. I know we've all got common ground here and can be constructive about this stuff.

I also think part of the fun of the board is seeing who can post the most outrageous stuff. I think Beardown's parody posts are funny...as...hell! Sometimes, you have to yell (figuratively) to be heard. Sometimes, plain old fashioned frustration speaks louder than anything else.

I don't think Mike is a bad personality. He's got it where it counts. Many people have said this time and again and I agree. Mike's the right guy in the wrong role. He's not the kind of guy you let run a ship. He's the kind of guy you stick with someone equally as strong as him and let them both go to town.

I thought for the longest time that Mike yelling at callers on "The Wise Guys" was must-hear radio. I LOVED that crap. The callers would give it to him and Mike would dish it right back. That's where Mike is at his best...as part of a team and not the main guy on the platform. Taking calls and interacting with the listeners. He certainly doesn't benefit from people always agreeing with him. When Mike is challenged, it brings out the best in him.

So we can count you in the anti-Lollapalooza crowd, hey?
