Nice timing Selig you fuck.

In statement, Braun accepts that some mistakes were made and will take the punishment. I can only assume he means his tshirt line

My guy had this one, fwiw. :alien:

What a douche. He acted like such a hardo during that last press conference. Nice to see he isn't appealing.

I'm going to bet the Brewers convinced him to take this one on the chin since the season is lost anyways and have him back for 2014

What a shame. Seems like a real stand up guy.

Maybe the phone he took the suspension call on wasn't transported to the Verizon store in a timely fashion.

Been saying this is why it is coming down! Hawg Ass has monitored me on this one.

Bud didnt want to do it, but he knew he had to and the Brewers sucking made it much easier.

Helping support that theory, you have to ask, what did MLB learn in the last 6 months, that they didnt know at the start of the season. Probably not that much more, so then where was the suspension then?

While Uncle Jerry might think for Bud, the fact is his best and long time friends own the Brewers and the last thing he wanted to do was knock them out of any contention. so, in this case, he didnt have to do that and still did his job, to a point.

I wonder if he will be the same player next year. He's still in those prime years for a hitter. I too just sent a few trade offers including him.

If an idiot accepts your offer, please let me know if you have any openings in that league next year. Please.

Don't think it's going to work. Yahoo has his status updated now, and no one responded to any of my offers. Everyone is probably driving home from work now.

The timing is 100% Braun's fault, period.

Nowhere in his apology statement does he actually say "I took illegal drugs/PEDs/etc.".

"As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions..."

"This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it is has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization. I am very grateful for the support I have received from players, ownership and the fans in Milwaukee and around the country. Finally, I wish to apologize to anyone I may have disappointed -- all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates. I am glad to have this matter behind me once and for all, and I cannot wait to get back to the game I love."

ARod is most likely done. Drummed out of the game in shame, similar to Bonds.

@joe_sheehan Jesus Joe how's the view from up in your ivory tower? You know very little about what actually goes on, but judge away.

Jeff Passan is destroying Braun right now, complete with non-quoted hatred from teammates.

Interesting thought that Braun likely has been using since college. Being a University of Miami guy, where Biogenesis is etc.

This still isn't really a deterrent. He got a 120 million dollar contract and he's losing 3.5 or so because of steroids.

Teams are going to have to start writing language in contracts where they have the ability to void/modify deals if guys are found guilty of using PED's.

It's not the commissioner's fault. MLB has probably the strongest labor union in the world. Even Braun who was clearly guilty was able to weasel his way out of a positive test by slandering the reputation of a tester who followed protocol. There wasn't anything MLB could do to stop him.

MLB finally has enough info on these players to do something and the union finally appears to be willing to cooperate. Hopefully at some point it will be an option to void contracts of players like A-Rod.

It would have been pretty sweet if Congress had taken away MLB's antitrust exemption. That would have been a big blow to their union.

I understand the whole idea of the guaranteed contracts. Do not like them but do really want the players to get all they deserve as compensation. I fail to see why it isn't part of a basic contract to void due to an illegal act or PED's etc. I guess because the testing and penalties are in the CBA. As for inhuries they are insured so I do not know why teams can't get out of bad monster ones like A-rods.
