What a great race! Thanks for everyone who participated in the race log this week. It was fun to be back in the big chair this week for the Brickyard 400. So for my co-host Keeping Score and the tens of tens of people who check out the and support the NASCAR section, see you next week with the race from Pocono, GOODNIGHT NOW!!!!

That is awesome for Newman to win. He gets the hometown win...after being fired

And how the hell did Bad Brad drop from 5th to 21st in the last 17 laps?

I so want someone to say what everyone is saying under their breath......that a pretty good driver is losing his ride to a T and A media darling who can't drive and he just shoved it up everyone's ass with that win.

She did finish ahead of Biffle today, so she has that going for her.

The lesson here is if you're gonna be bad, you better be marketable.

Give Courtney Force a ride then. She is 6 years younger and arguably hotter and I doubt she would finish any worse.

On the money.

Sweetcheeks has a permanent sponsor and Harvick is bringing Budweiser with him. What Sponsorship does Newman have??

I'm sure Quicken Loans digs the victory lane celebration, but this doesn't secure a sponsor for next season. I can't fault Stewart for good business.

What is going to happen when the little big guns of the nationwide and camping world truck series are ready for the show. The dillon's, kyle "jeffy 2.0" Larson, Bubba Wallace, Buesher, Briant Scott, Jeb Burton, Elliot's kid. Most of these guys/kids can really drive. These guys are really going to screw with sponsorships. I hope Hendrick locks up Larson to replace Gordon because he could be real good real soon.

Guys like Nemechek and Blaney will be retired by then. The David Cabal will cease to exist at some point.(That is NOT State of Israel trash talk either)

That is six spots right there. Somebody's head falling off makes seven.

But most of those guys drive for shit teams. You really only have 30 teams that give a shit and 20-22 that honestly give a shit. Generally they like the young talent to get a push and not be a jobber driver. Guys like Vickers, Newman, Kurt Busch, JEFF BURTON, dinger and probably Logano eventually are going to make up the job squad......though Kurt is showing they can hang even with lesser equipment.

Dillon is getting a prime seat next year. I'm sure Larson will eventually. Dillon's bro probably will. Wallace is going to get a danica like push but he can actually drive.

I'm surprised a couple more heavyweight (No Spiegel pun intended) don't get involved with Nascar. A couple more teams with big, big money.

I mean Rick Hendrick's net worth is $200 million. It seems there's room in Nascar for a billionaire or two to step in.

Maybe Prokhorov will get bored with the Nets and expand his horizons.

On the bright side, there were no start and parks today.

Biffle?

So I finally found some software that will allow me to capture video from my DVR and upload it to my computer.

That's great, congratulations. That is going to be a lot of Taylor Swift material.

6 races until the playoffs. The max point differential is 276. Using my public education math, 13th place Hawg Ass cannot catch, Reigning... Defending... 2012 Nascar Section Champion Terry's Peeps(!) meaning he has qualified for the playoffs. Congrats Speepers. On the other side of the card, my guy JB finishes DFL. I could have picked myself for the race today and only been out one point. Gloopan got his pick bumped and still came out with a winner and a dealbreaker. Enjoy this once great country before it's imminent collapse. Also, see y'all next week for the Pocono race.
