Is your argument that these actors should have won Oscars? Or is this meant to be a list of any great one-scene performances?

Hoffman was in more than one scene in Almost Famous.

I think there should be a special oscar FOR one scene stealers

But I mean any great one scene performance

Hoffman was in what? 2 scenes

Yeah, I think Hopper is even better but he's in more than that one scene.

The look on Hopper's face when he takes the cigarette and decides to do what he does and then the look after Walken turns away knowing he's about to get shot are both tremendous.

It's been years since I have seen this movie. I shall search for it this evening.

You could go Gary Oldman or Brad Pitt, too. That's a weird movie. A lot of tremendous scenes but a sketchy overall story.

Saul Rubinek is good. Bronson Pinchot, Michael Rapaport, Val Kilmer. It's like a series of great scenes that didn't quite work exactly as an overall movie somehow.

Christopher Walken was also great in Pulp Fiction (the "Watch" speech to young Butch.)
Gene Hackman as the blind man in Young Frankenstein.
Vincent D'onofio had a good scene as Orson Welles in a bar in Ed Wood.
I think Judi Dench actually won an Oscar for one or two scenes as Queen Elizabeth in Shakspeare in Love. I've never seen, though.

Jason Robards' "I never should have had 4" speech in "Parenthood" is a great scene. I use that for monologues sometimes.

The underground bar scene in "Inglourious Basterds".

The "Indianapolis" scene in "Jaws".

His line of "you worry too much, you always did" is such a spot-on analysis of looking at your own children that I think of it nearly weekly.

Plus, I had an almost exact recreation of the final scene of that movie (your kids are ruining it) this past weekend that I thought I was Steve Martin.

Alright, I said a little drunker, not a lot drunker.

So, my 8-year old, Dr. Ken Jr. III, has moderate to severe Autism. He can answer questions and tell you what he wants. He's completely toilet-trained and goes out for dinners and such multiple times a week. He has a very specific palate. He'll only eat McD's fries, Buffalo Wild Wings mini-corn dogs, and a few other things. Needless to say, not incredible healthy foods. As a result, he's chunky so he wears older-level clothes.

We met some family at one of those big resort waterparks. My guy has had a hard time finding trunks that fit him well. He can't always pull them back up on his own.

We went to one of the indoor portions with the little kid waterslides and multiple levels for them to go up and down. I had spent a lot of time in there with him to make sure he took his place in line for the slides while I got soaked standing around. Finally, he had it down so I thought I'd stay dry and just watch from the outside. It's not always easy to see everything in there that's going on.

I'm standing next to by broheim-in-law watching and we see my guy's full ass as he's trying to pull up his trunks on the 2nd level. I'm thinking that the big water dump that happens every 3 minutes knocked his shorts off and he can't pull them back up so I throw my shirt off and start running up the steps to help him pull those trunks up (iin the back of my mind in thinking the worst) - as I run up a huge group of 5-7 year-old girls with horrified looks on their faces are screaming "he pooped in there!" and I'm thinking "oh shit". Sure enough, my guy didn't want to get out so he decided to drop the shorts and do his business in a pile right there.

I'll never forget the horrified looks on those little girl's faces as I ran up there. Sure enough, they had to shut down the entire pool for over an hour to clean it all up. I felt like everyone was looking at us and blaming us. Truly, the only thing that helped me get through that was the idea that we'll be laughing at this someday. My guy knew he did something wrong and felt really bad when the pool was closed but there were a ton of other places for people to go so it wasn't the worst thing ever.

Still, I'll never forget the look on those little girl's faces as they ran away screaming.

Speaking of which, today, I noticed that the word poop always gets a giggle.

So does dildo.
