No FM Sports... why?

With HD Radio and FM and with all the technology, why are we still forced to listen to AM radio. I don't know enough about radio listenership to say this as fact, but I would have to assume the ESPN ratings and the SCORE ratings could compete with any FM station. Besides my favorite of B96...

It would seem to be a waste of the stereo technology to put sports talk radio on FM.

Bottom line is AM was made for talk & FM was made for music. Also, you reach more people with most AM signals since FM has a very short reach. (that's why "The Drive" has 2 FM's here: 96.9 & 97.1)
