It was so popular as a beer thread, and there are enough Tito's drinkers in the Let's Get Drunk Tonight thread, thought I'd try it.

I classify my vodkas into 2 camps. The smooth, premium one that I'll start the night out with (Tito's, North Shore, Ketel) and the cheap stuff that I'll use to finish the night so as not to waste the expensive stuff (Svedka, Skyy).

That said, I was at Costco yesterday and saw that they have 2 versions of the Kirkland brand. The French one that I've seen before that is rumored to be Grey Goose-ish.

But, I had not seen the other "American" version that's $13.50/handle. Has anybody tried this one? Is it comparable to a 2nd-tier vodka label?

I have not, but I usually just drink Svedka. I think for the money it is hard to go wrong with it, just finished my bottle last night. Will be in search of a new one soon.

I've read that their brands are good and that their Silver Tequila is good as well (but I'm not starting a Tequila Suggestions thread)...(Silver Patron)....but I just can't pull the trigger on trying it when I know there's other stuff I like that's just a couple bucks more.

I think Svedka is mass produced and available at any of your local liquor stores.

Yeah but given the consumption rate of a handle a night (give or take). That extra couple bucks is gonna add up fast.

That would be a accurate statement Mr. Scorpio.

That's how the 2-tier system was developed.

Svedka is probably high end up in Wisconsin though. They keep that shit behind the counter under lock and key.

Well, it's not like Miller High Life, but it is close.

Well when it comes to vodka I was always quantity over quality. So my go to's were Skol and Popov. The few times that I did sample the "good" stuff, it was always Grey Goose and Ciroc for me. As an alcoholic, those were my favorites.

I don't care for Ciroc. Vodka made from grapes tastes foul to me.

This.

Brought our homemade Limoncello made from Kirkland, to Ravinia on Saturday night. I should have brought a cooler full of mason jars of the stuff. People were falling all over themselves trying to get more. many of whom were Effen and Tito's drinkers.

It's a fine second tier vodka.

I definitely liked the Goose better, but after a couple of doubles on the rocks, you could put hand sanitizer in there and I wouldn't know the difference. :drunken:

Svedka is the best of the cheapo brands. It's a mixer Vodka.
I think a sippin Vodka is ketel.
I don't have much use for Vodka outside those.

North Shore is the best vodka I've ever had, followed by Tito's.

Good Doctor,

I recommend the following:

Purchase whatever vodka you'd like.

Take it outside.

Set it on fire, and then go purchase bourbon instead.

That is all.

Love,

Leash

Buy Gordon's. The fire will be a welcome relief.

Uh huh.

I'm a booze guy, love it all. But when it comes to drinking and enjoying I gotta join you on the dark stuff. Scotch first followed by bourbon followed by gin.

I like to kick back with a nice snifter of hand sanitizer every now and again. Purell if it's on sale. Store brands will do in a pinch.

I haven't imbibed vodka in years...maybe over a decade. When I did I used to like smirnoff twist. I could just drink that stuff like it was water.
